Do the GameCube controllers use regular phillips bits or something like the GameBit 4.5mm for the console?

I used my smallest phillips bit on the controller and it doesn't seem to work. I then noticed that the screw looks like it has a triangular drive?

Which one is it?

And where can I find that triangular bit?

It is called a triwing screwdriver. You may or may not have luck finding one at your local hardware store. I had to order mine over the internet.

You may be able to get a perfect sized flathead inbetween a couple of the slots and open it like that, but it might strip the screw. Try this at your own risk, I guess.

Funny, I work at a place that sells all types of fasterners and anchors or what not and I have never seen a triangular bit...funky...where online did you order it?

I just ordered my Gamecube replacement case with mod chip and Gamebit from ModdingManiacs

I got my tri-wing bit from a Gameboy Color replacement shell. It was like $5.00 local. It's worth that just to have a tri-wing bit LOL
