So I'm trying to collect all the Zelda games and I've heard that there were two of them released on the Satellaview. Are all Satellaview games downloads? Or are there actual carts of these games? I know absolutely nothing about this system and just heard of it recently so any information about it would be appreciated. Thanks guys/girls.

The games were just downloads. No actual carts were made.

This is a good intro. Im not sure if there are zelda carts around or not. If memory serves me right, it was just a remake of the famicom LoZ.

Thanks for the info and the link. I just looked through it and did a search on eBay. Apparently you could download the game onto the BS-X adapter and there are some for sale on eBay. But not Zelda. If anyone has a BS-X adapter cart with "BS Zelda" or "BS The Legend of Zelda: Kodai no Sekiban (Ancient Stone Tablets)", send me a PM. I'm not looking to buy right now but I'd like to know if it's possible to find them. Thanks for the help guys. I appreciate it.

Actually, it looks like these games might be unplayable without the ST. GIGA satellite service. Can anyone verify from a source other than Wikipedia?

Yep, Ancient Stone Tablets is completely unplayable now. The game was released in four weekly episodes and featured live voice overs. You could only play it at the times it was actually broadcast.
There is a project on the go to put the 4 episodes together and create a fully playable ROM image. But I'm damned if I can find the link to the site.

Incidently, it is my experience that some of the Satellaview games are more emulatable than they may initially appear. I have often repeated that BS SMB USA (which was similarly devided into sections, had realtime clock functions, and probably live voiceovers) only works perfectly under SNES9x 1.29 or earlier -- in any other emulator most of the advanced functionality is broken.

Yeah recently I found out about the BS Sat. games too, much to my dismay they were downloads and never released as actual cartridges you can own.
BS Shucibuman (sp) was one I was looking to own back in the early summer til I found out it's only a D/L
I was told once it's possible to D/L the game onto an actual cartridge but I have no idea how much weight that holds.

These folks were using one as a dev system somehow.

Just a note with Satellaview games. Many of them reqired you to wait for things to download, or to be timed with certain TV shows. So you have to hold down that fast forward button for a ton of time to actually play the game (provided you use an emulator, which you pretty much have to). Case in point, the remakes of Excitebike and BS Zelda.
