I just bought a cheapy DDR pad at the flea market (pictures later on the finds thread) and I noticed it said it was PC compatible, but it didn't seem to include a USB converter, so I want to know where I can find one for cheap. I went to Radio Shack and they wanted $25 for a three year old PS2 to SERIAL converter so I refused. :P

Any good stores, or brands I can buy one from? With cheap shipping, preferably. Thanks. :)

Here's what you need...

It's called a "PS-USB Dual Player Converter" yeah, the Hong Kong special. LOL It's a little box with a short USB2 plug on it, each side has a PlayStation family socket. No drivers are needed, Windows will recognize it as a pair of 12 button, 4 axis joypads. The analog sticks are supported in analog mode. What's nice is windows will always think the controllers are connected, so you can hotswap controllers without the computer being the wiser, it's almost like a pass-through. I've had this one for about four years now and it's never given me a single problem. Along with a PS1 DualShock controller I use it for everything including MAME. (see trophy in my inventory)

Look around on eBay for "PlayStation converter" and you should find them with a little searching, that's where I got mine. They come in different translucent colors and are blister packed on a card. Should run you no more than $10 shipped. I wish I would have bought more of these as it's the best converter I've ever used and back when I bought mine there were hundreds of them on eBay.

They don't show a pic but it's probably the same way. In the feedback the guy says it didn't work with his Logitech wireless controllers but mine worked, no problem.

I reccomend the 'Smart Joy' I got mine from lik-sang. An actual brand and it's very reliable.
