im trying my best to clean out all of my nonessentials, and while testing out several saturns(all of which have dead batteries), i noticed one gave me the option to change the 'clock' and several other settings. this menu was after the language menu and immediately following the date menu. only one system out of 6 offered this option, and all are the round button variety. simply wondering if this was just a program change or what?
has anyone else ever noticed this?

They should all be the same. If you go into the System Options (turn on with no disc in the disc tray) you'll find all that information.

nope, they head straight from the date menu to the title screen....no 'clock' menu

That's not what I was talking about, they should all have the mode in there but you will need to access it via the System Options (or whatever it's called) menu. Try booting with no battery (not a dead battery) and see if you get the same results.

I dont have a saturn next to me to check it out, but you can go to system prefences and reset system defaults. although you said all the batteries were dead, so i dont know why you wouldnt get anything more then a language/date prompt before it goes into the sega logo
if you could check the model, i doubt its anything major but mk-80000 (oval button) and mk-80000a (round button) are the most common. supposedly after 7/96 they made a mk-80001 (round button) with a 1.01a bios but i've never ran into it. if it happens to have the 1.01a bios shoot me a pm if you'd like to get rid of it.
