Is there a database somewhere that has a good Saturn rarity and pricing guide for JPN games? I'm currious about what are worth grabbing at different prices and what their rarity is so if I should jump on certain "rare" offers. I have been venturing the Sega gaga Domain site from time to time and see what import games that never came to America would interest me and has been helpful thus far.

I don't think there's one, but last resort option you could always post titles you want to know rarity/price here in this topic, and the Saturn folks can tell you. I was a huge fan from 01-05... so although I'd be shaky on today's market having not checked since late '05 -- the rarity part doesn't change much from year to year.

Price, however, oh yeah. I hear Burning Rangers is back up in demand. In 04-05 it was as cheap as $35-ish for a US CIB copy. Today I hear they shoot well over 50

And Shining the Holy Ark, man when I sold it in 04 they were $25-ish CIB. Today, over 40 I am told. Albert Odyssey has also seen a massive spike, going into the 60's... a game I got for $32 in late 2003.

I'm of course talking JPN import, not US RPGs. :P

ie:
Magical Drop 2
PuyoPuyo Sun
Fatal Fury 3

ect. So mainly exclusive JPN releases.

not sure what they are worth today or if my following info may be relavent but in 2003 I paid $12.00 (+6.00 ship) for Magical Drop 2 (sans spine card) and bought Fatal Fury 3 about a year and a half ago at the flea for $10.00.

I guess flea market prices are not to good to guage value on though as last year I bought a complete Thunder Force Gold pack 1 for $15.00. Didn't even know for a week it had the spine till I decided to open the manual.

you can take a look at and see if I've got it listed at gamengai (http://www.gamengai.com/main.php). I'm pretty proud of the fact that the rarity chart is pretty accurate.

Assuming it's not there, you can always check the Yahoo Japan Auction Assistant (http://www.gamengai.com/auction_assistant_select.php). Type in the names of the games, go to the generated URLs, and bookmark the auctions. Get an idea what our Japanese friends pay for the items.

Note that you'd have to type in the Japanese name, in romaji. I've not got the US equivalents in there. So for Fatal Fury, you'd have to search for Garou Densetsu.

Thanks for the link to the site. It is helpful with the rarity and the information will help me a lot. The Yahoo assist is cool but I can't read it well at the office without the language package but I will have no problem when I get home tonight. If there's any other places out there with additional information from another perspective it would be greatful. :)

Hmm...as far as Puyo Puyo Sun goes, I bought it for about $8 give or take back in 2001, and I sold it about 6 months back for somewhere between 5-10, I honestly can't remember. It should be pretty easy to find. The one I had was the Seganet version I think.
