I haven't found a thread so I'll start a new one.
I just got a SV from Ebay, the Watara version, so far I have two games, Kung Fu Street (Yie Ar Kung Fu Clone) and Pyramid. I like the console overall but it is a tad on the large side but not bad, screen, and audio are nice though. Most of the games seem extremely generic though, why did they make a nice system and then make the games cheap generic ripoffs?
I want to get people to start a general conversation on the console
What are your thoughts on the system, what games are you fond of or not, what do you have and where did you find it and has anyone found anything in the wild before, I haven't ever seen one, known anyone who owns one or ever heard of someone finding it in the wild before?
Share any other opinions or ideas that you have towards the console, I will play it more and share more too.
Kudos!
I got two games, but no Supervision:

Because that's what Taiwan does; look at the Super A'Can.

I have been collecting for the Supervision since 2001. I now have many variations of the system, and copies of every known game except for four (4). Here's what I can tell you:
* All of the games are absolute garbage, and this is coming from someone who genuinely wants to enjoy the Supervision. Really! Every once in a while, I go back and try to find something enjoyable about some of the games, albeit unsuccessfully.
* You'll spend lots and lots of time trying to build a decent-sized collection of games, and you'll spend much more on them than they'll ever be worth.
* There exists a device called the TV-LINK which will allow you to use your Supervision with a television. This was before the Super Gameboy appeared, and you'd think it'd be a nice piece of hardware - but you'd be wrong. The TV-LINK has the most awful palette EVER and it works differently with every model Supervision that you connect to it. Games run too slow (or too fast), sound works poorer than on the real SV (which is saying a LOT); some graphical "effects" (such as the animated SACHEN logo) display wonky on the TV-LINK, etc.
That said, I'm quite obsessed with the Supervision despite its overall worthlessness, and it has been an exciting system to collect for. There's many different models of the machine, produced in different countries. There's a horde of badly programmed games. There's cheap accessories. All in all, it will drive you nuts but for some very sick, sadistic reason, once you have a Supervision & some games, you'll want MORE MORE MORE.

Was the Supervision an actual USA release...or a North America release?

Yes, the Supervision was released in the USA. It was primarily made available through mail-order catalogs, such as the Johnson Smith Company catalog. The television gameshow The Price is Right also briefly offered the Supervision as a prize.

A select few retailers also carried them, I don't believe too many major chains carried them though. Seems to be more of a ma and pa kind of thing.

I got mine for free from a pawn shop. It was sitting on a shelf behind the register, I asked about it, and the guy said "It's just some piece of shit. We'll probably just throw it away." I told them I'd take it if they were going to really throw it away, and for once in my life, they actually meant it! The guy brought it right over and said "Here." I didn't even buy anything that day.
It's almost worth what I paid for it..

I bought one and a handful of games. Not only do the games suck, but the screen is so dim and blurry that the games are unplayable anyways.

They where also sold in local stores, I just found one a few months back at a thrift store that had a price sticker from a local supermarket:

I've got about 22 games (manufactued by: Bon Treasure, Watara , and Supervision), some dups. Most of the games I have found in the wild. I've got some pictures on my site:

I've also got at least three systems, one is still in the garage as it's not working properly. There are at least two style, different joypad, with or with out legs. They are on my site also. The boxed one was from ebay for about 12 bucks shipped, the others where found in the wild. I also have the power supply.

I also have a SuperVision, but the Hartung edition. I don't really enjoy playing with it. I only have Crystball but the fact that the display is nearly unable to manage speedy motions it is no fun to play.
I got the SV from a friend of mine and now I know why he doesn't want it.

Well, thanks to the pictures on Charles' site, I know what you're all on about now!
My mate had the Quickshot version of this maaaany years ago at school. His parents got it for him for Xmas, even though he wanted a Gameboy. Unlucky.
I remember the screen quality was shockingly crap. He had a Breakout clone and it was impossible to see the ball as the screen blurred so much. I can't really remember much about the other games, other than the blur!

Yeah, most games do blur a lot, some are playable though.

I used to have a Watara Supervision and a copy of Crystball and a plane shooter I think was called Eagle Plan. I'm not sure where it is now. My brother borrowed it and lost it, or something.
I actually enjoyed Crystball in small doses, but the blurry screen made it hard to play. The shooter was downright awful.
