Well i'm meeting with a former emp. tonight and he's looking to unload some sega stuff.

heres his response..

"I used to work there, so I have some shirts from working
the E3 booth in 2002? I think? Some video games and some Jet Set
Radio spray can tips...

there's an Eternal Arcadia marketing game set too... still shrink
wrapped. What are you looking for...? I have a mug too... some
stickers and some sonic stuffed things..."

"the SEGA shirts have a huge SEGA logo on the front, they are
blue L baseball long sleeve shirts some are women's shirts short sleeve and I think they were the "best" shirts they had

i might be able to dig up some other stuff if you are looking for
specifics... i worked there for 5 years."

What should I be looking out for? I'm deff buying the two itemes mentioned.

Too bad it wasn't stuff from when Sega was rollin' on all cylinders in the 1990's. The simple answer is to take anything and everything he gives you. The more he wants to unload the better.

Agreed.

Geist Force on GD-R for the Dreamcast. If he has that, he can name his price.

Also an English translation of Sakura Taisen is supposed to have been sent to SoA for testing. I'd be interested in that too.

can anyone clarify "Eternal Arcadia marketing game"? Do you think this is some sort of internal sega package or just another way of saying promo? hmm.

Eternal Arcadia was the Japanese title of Skies of Arcadia if I remember correctly.

I don't want to sound like I'm shitting on prospects or anything, but remember that a LOT of people worked for Sega - I know three former Sega employees from the Dreamcast days of Sega of America as well. Not all of them are going to have a closet full of unreleased protos.

I'm even happy with a bunch of dreamcast games to be quite honest. Never owned a DC, but loved that split second of gaming history. I have this feeling that i'm going to get a really good deal, none the less.

That Sega shirt sounds pretty sweet.

I wouldn't mind having one of those.

Stuffed Sonic things? Almost as awesome as one of those shirts.

ha. like I thought, he was part of the creative art department. It turns out he worked there for 5 years in packaging production as a senior designer, he then went on to another gaming company....slips my mind... Think bay area, might have said ubi? Oh well. then after working there went on to Banana Republic. He said hes going back into the industry, again as a designer.

I didn't really ending up buying anything, but he did give me some spray caps and pins. I can go back if anybody wants any of the above mentioned items.

It was refreshing as a student of graphic design to meet someone who worked in a field in which I have a lot of passion for.

He went on saying how sega has changed hands completely (new people) that its hardly what he remembers.

Yes, I'm sure the guy who arranged logos on boxes and flyers has extensive knowledge of the goings-on at Sega's Japanese engineering department.

Haha nice... Yeah if you decide you don't want the mug I would definitely look at getting it and I don't even drink coffee that much.
