Gears of War - is there a bunch of cussing??

I having been watching the trailers for Gears of War and the game looks great, but I'm worried that there will be a bunch of cussing in the game. Do any of you guys know about this?

I am currently deciding whether or not to sell my 360 and things like this certainly enter into my decision making. I don't understand why next-gen means constant obscenities like some previous games like Prey, Saints Row, etc...

It's rated "M" for a reason.

Video games have turned into interactive movies. Adults want games with adult themes, and situations. If a situation calls for profanity - it will be used.

If cussing happens to strike a nerve, then you'd probably be better off giving up gaming all together. It's no different on any other platform.

Why are you worried that there will be cursing in the game? Cursing is a natural thing to do. The game looks pretty brutal so i would be dissapointed if it doesnt have cursing. It doesnt have to be heavy, but some would be great, since it fits the theme of the game.

Hehe good point. Made me also think about the the Janet Jackson boob stunt. People went crazy, but when they show heavily voilent stuff on TV u dont see people going nuts. I belive theres some religion stuff in the picture here. Heavy violence is ok, but cursing and nudity is not. I will never understand that.

I'm sorry did he just ask why games like Saints Row have so many swears? If the answer isn't obvious then god damn, you must've been living under a rock.

And what's wrong with swearing anyway? "I want to sleep with her." = Good. "I want to fuck her" = bad?

I'd assume it will have plenty of cursing, as it serves two convenient purposes:

1) It is apparently cool and gives the illusion of "maturity" to the game, and most importantly
2) it can usually make up for poorly written and unintelligent dialogs.

I'm expecting a lot of forced "kill those muthafuckin' aliens" from this one.
