I was wondering if anyone out there had a list of numbers available for the PS3. There was a list for the XBOX 360 and how many units would be available at Best Buy. I'm just wondering if there is one for the PS3.

i forgot about that leaked list. wasnt it from best buy? im sure a list will surface once it becomes closer to launch

I am sure they wont sell out because I mean the price alone is going to kill sales.

Don't be so sure about that. :) It will sell out, you can count on it. As for me, I'm waiting for a respectable $250-$300 price before I get one. But I'm sure that will be sometime in the year 2012.

I can guarantee you that it will be sold out in a few hours. You saw how it was with the pre-orders.

At Best Buy we just recently got our numbers for how many wii systems we will be getting on launch, so we should be getting our ps3 numbers fairly soon. As soon as I get them I'll be sure to let you know. I also heard, and this could just be a rumour floating, that the state of N.H. is getting a bit more ps3's than other states just cause of the tax-free situation.

That is why there is only 400,000 availible. The ebayers and fanboys will buy the initial lot of ps3. The ps3 will be paraded as a must have. (artificial hype).
The real and I mean real test will come after the hype and fanboys. Getting johnnys mother to shell out the 700.00 for the console and game. That is where I know the problem will be. The psp had 1,000,000 at 250.00 by the end of the week stores still had em if you wanted em.
Sony defianately didn't want to repeat that fiasco.

The PS3 is definitely going to sell out at launch.
But like how gepeto said the real determination is after the launch hype fades. How many systems are going to sell at launch prices?
