My DDII board is dead... can I just get any Jamma game off ebay and put it in there? Or would the wiring or buttons be different?

You can put any JAMMA game in there and it will work.
BUT - if you're going from a 3 button game (DDII) to a 6 or 7 button game (SFII, MK series, etc.) then you'd need to install more buttons or play without them. :)
Likewise, you'd want to put in another horizontal game, so most shoot-em-ups won't work in there unless you rotate the monitor. Something you may or may not be able to do, depends on your cabinet.
If you're just swapping in another horizontal game with the same or fewer buttons, then yeah - it's plug and play. :)

Will Arkanoid work? I know it uses a Vaus controller... but would it just be setup for the joystick?
I'd really like to get another DDII... but all I can find is DD1.
This is my cab.

It doesn't look like the original cab. See the link below. The original cab came out instead of being flush where the controls are, and the top of the cab was angled.

Just noticed that. Doesn't change anything I guess! haha

I suppose you *could* with some tinkering, but I wouldn't recommend it no matter what. Arkanoid *needs* a paddle.

Why do you want a second DDII Machine? It's a cool game and everything, but... two? That's extra space that you could spend on a whole different game:)

LOL Gotcha. I noticed your other post about the board issues after I already posted here.
My guess is that you'll be able to get that first board working properly again, but if you can score a whole new board for cheap (and I'd bet you could) that's probably easiest.

Well I cleaned the edge connector, reseated all the IC's... no change. I'm mailing it off to the guy that redid my monitor board (arcadecup.com) as he said he'll take a look at it and try reburning the EPROM. If that doesn' work... new game time!

Actually, the original Arkanoid was *not* JAMMA. Revenge of DOH, OTOH, is.
