i'm looking for games in which the countdown sequence to insert another quarter or press start involves the character about to recieve bodily harm.
examples: the buzzsaw in ninja gaiden arcade, the dynamite in final fight 1, the rising water in final fight 2, etc.

When you get to Geese Howard, and you end up losing, you start falling off Howard Plaza. When the countdown reaches zero... *splat*.

I believe that at the end of Area 51 if you did not insert another quarter or press start on the console version you would die. Well not technically you would turn into one of those huge bug eyed aliens. I guess that is not all bad, but either way I am sure it falls under this category.
