My Philips CM 8833 mk2 just crapped out :( . I was searching around and found the Samsung 940MW LCD TV that accepts the Euro scart connector. This is the only TV that I can find in the wild (in USA) that has a Euro Scart connector. My questions is how well does this TV work on the old gen systems? I typically use Scart for the PS2, PS1, Saturn, Sega Genesis, PC Engine, Gamecube. If you know any other Euro Scart TVs that are sold in the USA please let me know what they are. Thanks.

My general impression of flat screens is that they all look rather horrible when used with older systems.

Alright I tested the Samsung 940MW with my PS2 with composite and s-video and it looked like garbage. The CRT looked much better. Unfortunately I didn't have any component cables to test that model, but I may as well buy a component CRT for much cheaper if I go that route. The Samsung 940MW looks great when connected to a PC though. I agree that most likely old skool consoles will look worse on a LCD than on a CRT. When I do buy a HD TV I will wait till the 1080P prices become more affordable. There is also a Scart to Component converter box that costs about $50-$60 that will be interesting. If anyone has been using component cables with their PS2 and older consoles on a LCD, please post how the picture compares to a CRT. Thanks.
