This past week I sold a buddy a few PS1 games (Fear Effect, RE: DC, & Abe's Exoddus). I only charged $3 for RE: DC. He had a gallon of milk, so as part of the deal I got the milk for RE: DC. (I got $ for the others).

What's the weirdest/funniest thing you've ever traded/accepted in trade for games? Yes, I suppose...er, physical activites count.

Well, I paid for a chicken dinner for a guy once and got a toploader NES in trade. I guess that's mine

I traded a bunch of Magic The Gathering cards (mostly Ice Age) for a Dreamcast without hookups a few years ago.

Ahmmm... Since you mentioned physical activities up front, I wonder if you're not being entirely forthcoming.

My dad gave me his old 2000AD/Judge Dread comic collection from the 90s, which i traded with some guy on an art course i was on for his Megadrive collection from when he was a kid.
He had lots of Import games and i was over the moon with the deal.

When I was about nine or so, my parents acquired our Odyssey2 console from my uncle; in exchange, he wanted a certain liquor decanter of my dad's. I remember much hemming and hawing about this among the grown-ups at the time, but to me, that sounded like a hell of a deal! And thus did the legend begin. LOL

My brother and I once traded some pot for about ten 2600 carts, a basket case motorcycle and some stereo speakers. This turned out to basically be our "summer entertainment project" back in 1984. By season's end we had the motorcycle running, and I had mastered 2600 Miniature Golf, Video Pinball and Spider-Man.

Moving a broken tredmill down a flight of stairs, assembling a new one and then moving that one up the stairs.

That work netted me a gen mk1 and a bunch of games.

Uhh, that was the LAST thing I mentioned, & the only things exchanged were money, milk, & PS1 games.

:P ;) LOL

A few rusty trombones, a few Cleveland steamers, the occasional salad tossing, and a Dutch oven.

I kid, I kid. I hooked up a guy's Atari 2600 once and he gave me a loose Swordquest Waterworld. Good deal, huh?

I hear you there! Those drug addicts will sell their mothers down the river for some illegal drugs! But that means good deals. I traded a quarter of some decidedly uninspiring marajajuana for 10 - 12 boxed/complete SMS games and a nice Power Base Converter. I only paid $20 or so for the broccoli so I was very happy on that.

Last year I traded a bunch of SNES games for the electronics board out of an RC car. The kid in my class needed a new board and I wanted the games. He didn't use the games and I didn't use the car, so it was a very good trade for both of us.

I have traded:

Food: Monster Cereals, Vintage Kool-Aid, Rare Sodas, and the odd KFC dinner.

Toys:Old Star Wars and 50's board games. Usually major toy collectors have Classic Gaming stuff.

Pop nostalgia: Tastee-Freez glasses, Coke Memoribilia, and once a Kermit the Frog phone.

This was years ago, back when I was a trading maniac.

almost forgot: not weird, but very good deal. a friend was just getting into classic gaming, and getting rid of his xbox stuff so I traded him a NES arcade joypad thing for spiderman, some cabbella game, spy vs. spy and halo for the NES joy pad. all of them were scratched but halo. cabbela even had his brothers name carved in the back.

I've traded an SNES found in a burned storage building (yellowed, no hookups, no controlers, but worked) for $10. Then the next day bought an original Panasonic 3DO with one controler for the same $10 bill.

I've traded two porno tapes for a small box of common NES games.

I've cleaned out a garage for the original Genesis system box and NES Powerpad box.

I've bought Laserdisk players as well as RCA Selectavision players found at flea markets. Sold them to ePay and used the profits to spend at the same flea market.

I've fixed a guy's computer (formated, loaded win98/drivers) for a boxed Sega 32X and a Sega CD.

I've Helped the clerk at the local thrift store move some microwaves and VCR's for a small stack of Nintendo powers.

I could keep going, but I'll let someone else take over.

I once traded a big box of Legos for A Boy and his Blob on NES. Worked out pretty good since I outgrew Legos and really wanted that game at the time.

I recently traded a whole bunch of bad VHS movies from the early 1990's (starring the likes of Pauly Shore and Patrick Dempsey) for duplicate copies of NFL 2K and 2K1 for the Dreamcast (I ended up with doubles of each game).

Wasn't a trade so much - but when I was a freshman in college I had my friend who was still in high school sell my N64 to try to get some extra cash to live on. He instead traded it for some coke, which he (unsuccessfully) used to get some chicks high so they would sleep with him. He only told me the full story two years later - at which point he paid me the money he owed me....

Has nothing to do with video games, but one of my old roomates was in a Yahoo! chat room once, and some underage kid yelled that he would trade $150 worth of pot if someone would buy him beer. Dude lived about an hour away, so my friend went and picked up a case of Natty ($8?) and drove out there. When the kid offered him the pot, he told him he didn't do drugs, and asked the kid if he had anythng else to trade...

So I had no idea any of this is going on, and about an hour later, my roomate walks in with a VERY NICE ($1000+), well finished, six-string bass guitar. He was unemployed at the time.

Honestly, I was afraid to even ask for two weeks.

When I was a young teen, I traded two long boxes of comics for:

TG-16 w/ hookups and two controllers
TG-16 CDROM unit + storage case
TurboTap
A huge slew of TG-16 games (20-25, all complete) including games like Ys 1+2, Cosmic Fantasy 2, etc.

I foolishly sold my TG-16 collection to a mom n pop videogame store to buy the Sega Genesis/Streets of Rage 2 bundle.

I say foolishly, because I could have easily just held on the TG-16 system and saved money for the Genesis. I would later come to find out that the mom n pop videogame store had been burglarized and all the TG-16 stuff I traded in was stolen.

Because of these poor choices I made as a young collector, I vowed to NEVER sell off my videogame collection again.

I don't have any strange stories, but I do have one good trade I pulled off a few months ago. I've been on the look out for a snes copy of ChronoTrigger for a while but never found one. There was this guy on the CAG trading forums who had a cart only copy. I traded disc only copy of FFVII for the PC for a cart only ChronoTrigger. The best part was that I only paid a quarter for that copy of FFVII when I stopped by a church rummage sale a year ago. I was glad the deal went through since it is really hard to find any good snes stuff out here. I still haven't gotten to play it. My backlog is huge.

Nothing too uncommon. I traded Final Fantasy Tactics and a Saturn 4MB cart for some herbs once. It worked out well because I was looking to buy some and sell those, my friend was looking to sell some and buy those. Other than that, I've only parted with video games for money or other games.

Well actually I traded some MVS games to a friend who got me some free shipping on a cabinet. It was very cool, I can't wait for these cabs to come.
