I just saw that earlier today. Hot damn. Looks like my X1800XT DirectX 9 card is officially outdated.

768MB = x_x @_@ x_x

I wonder how long it will take for ATI to fire back with a 1GB card now.

Yeah.. I've got 2 7800 GT's, only a year old this christmas.. :angry:

I did find the 768 Megs thing a little odd.

Sigh - no edit...

Update: The card will have a built in physics processor, as well!

I guess the physics co-processor will become a PC standard, after all.

-_- 500mhz core clock speed..? I was expecting atleat 900mhz. this card lacks wow factor. a true next gen direct x 10 card needs to clock around 1.0ghz with 1 gig of ram.

Just becuase the core speed isn't much faster than ones now, doesn't mean it's not better.

Take your run-of-the-mill PC CPU for example. Speeds topped out around 3.4ghz 2 years ago. Most CPU's now are around 2.2 - 2.6 ghz. Yet they run butter than PC's a year ago.

Can these do SLI?

Now I need to find a monitor with 2500+ lines of resolution...

Yeah dude I totally agree, this definitely isn't a "true next gen direct x 10 card" because it doesn't have bigger numbers than the last one.

Seriously, don't the guys making these things know anything? Bigger numbers = BETTER EVERYTHING. Who cares about how much heat these things output, the more heat, the more BADASS it is. It might melt your soundcard but it'll save you cash on your gas bills in the winter.

I still can't believe people fall into those traps.

On topic, it looks like I can finally start speccing out a new machine. I was waiting for DX10 cards and Vista and now I can start looking.
