All due to the lack of online support on the PS3 version.

All due to the lack of online support on the PS3 version. And that the frame rate on the PS3 is acutally worse.

Pretty average scores and the PS3 score is below most of the previous TH games.

I'll first admit that I don't like Sony and I have never bought a PS2. But I think that competition is great for business so I never want a company to outright fail.
With that said I love the fact that 360 got a better score. I think that this will be a trend for about the first year while developers workout the PS3 system but after that the games should be pretty close to equal.

Im glad to see 360 got better reviews. Im sick of hearing about all the stones Sony have been throwing toward M$.

This is the same thing that happened when PS2 came out. Dreamcast games looked and reviewed better, but once developers learned how to take advantage of the ps2 hardware, the could really start to push the system.

This part caught my attention:
The PlayStation 3 version also installs a 264MB cache file onto the system's hard drive when you first put the game in your system. Presumably, this is done to help speed up loading, but the load times don't seem much better than the Xbox 360 version of the game

yeah I don't see how this is how the 360 owns the ps3
it's for a mediocre Tony Hawk Game, that at one time looked really good
but like others have said it's early to tell especially since Developers haven't learned to take advantage for the Ps3
see it's gonna be interesting in the long run not right now at least. it's to early to say.

I think it's somewhat unfair to compare rushed PS3 launch titles, with the 3rd wave of 360 games. Certainly this is going to be the case for awhile. It's going to take time for developers to come to grips with making games on the PS3. I think that when we get into 2008 and 2009, the differences between the average PS3 game, and the average 360 game will be much more dramatic. At least for the people with 1080p TV's and 7.1 surround systems, lol.

That's it, I'm cancelling my PS3 pre-order.

This is so stupid. Who cares? You can't get Gears of War on the PS3, so if you want to play all the hot new games you need a PS3. You can't play Resistance: Fall of Man on the 360, so if you want to play all the hot new games you need a PS3. You can't play Red Steel on either a PS3 or a 360, so if you want to play all the hot new games you need a Wii. Fine, I'll buy Tony Hawk on the goddamn 360. I'm still buy a freaking PS3 and I'm gonna like it, probably more than my Nintendo DS, so screw you. This shit is old.

It really is an unfair comparison to make this early, but at least Microsoft themselves aren't actively endorsing such a weak arguement for superiority (Sony seems to have the expertise in that sector). It all basically comes down to the online mode, and everyone (outside of the cheapskates) already knows that Xbox Live delivers a pretty good online experience. "You get what you pay for" as the saying goes. When it gets right down to it though, the Tony Hawk series isn't a proper battleground for any sort of next-gen war, as it's never been on the cutting edge of anything (despite being a fairly solid series). This is more or less just fanboy feed, and they've continually shown that they can make a feast out of even the tiniest scrap.
All in all, what the Tony Hawk games need more than anything is some good competition and at least a year and a half or so between installments (though I'm sure Activision stays in the black by releasing them every Christmas).
