I think it is more of a realization that it knows that they all but killed the live franchise and some serious changes need to be made. They have to have notice the huge slip in sales. I noticed even a majority of loyal live fans left this year. I also noticed 07 for the 360 was selling for 39.99 used at one of the gamestores in my area just a few weeks after release.

With the steady release of sub par sports games and the strong overwhelming competition from 2k7 and the fact that they can't buy every franchise and toss in the negative pay for extra content press that they have been getting. = it's not worth it. (I know of no one that has purchased extra sports content from xboxlive.)

I find it funny that they would release a not ready for prime time madden 06 for the 360 and cancel the ps3 's 07.

I tell you Ea has lost alot of talented people in the programming and innovation dept and now they are being forced to live with the way they run there offices.

It amazes me how large companies can get rid of top flight talent and really believe they can do better with b class talent.
