I just picked this up yesterday I must say, it's a nice lil remake especially for the GBA. Personally one of my favorite FF games out of the series, ever since it was re-released on PS1 originally, which was the first time it came in the USA I think. I've had more respect for the game.

I noticed it's using the same font as the previous FFIV Advance. I love the artwork when the characters are speaking, but we are introduced to a brand new intro and an entirely remixed soundtrack. Faris pirate theme sounds very nice from what I'm hearing right now.

When exactly did this come out? I went to go buy it on the 8th and couldn't find it.

I think it was the 8th that is shipped or at least thats when it started shipping however the stores probably got it a day later.

Nov 6th the ads said, but most stores got it on the 7th or 8th.

Further more, I do recommend this, but I know FF3 is only less then a week away now on the DS. Yet makes a nice addition to the GBA RPG line up.

Now if they could only release FF6 Advance to the USA and Europe, I feel that would put the GBA at a good retirement. I know it's still coming out in Japan around December this year I heard.

I will only accept a true retirement for the GBA after Square/Enix releases Chrono Trigger Advance.

Yeah this is a nice little remake. I got mine with the guide on the 7th, but haven't really played it yet because I'm still going through IV.

Man this has been a Final Fantasy Month for me, V, III, XII, and I just got X :)

I agree to that.

Whatever you do, don't buy it from EB/RapeStop. They are charging $34.99 for a GBA game! (MSRP is still $29.99) The clerks there couldn't believe it either. First time they had seen that for a GBA game they said.

I noticed that too, so I purchased mine from Best Buy ($29.99)

A little late for me. I bought it at CrapStop for $34.99, and a few days later at Wal-Mart, it was there for $29.99.

This is a game I have been very excited about. Having played and enjoyed the version of FFV in FF Anthology, I was stoked to hear about a version coming to the GBA that would be a perfect port of the Super Famicom version. FFV really is a great game. It tends to get overshadowed by FFIV and FFVI but it's still an awesome game. Great characters, great music, and a pretty good story.

I don't have the funds to purchase it yet but when I will in a few weeks. I thought FFVI was supposed to release on the same day but the date for FFVI at GameSpot says TBA. Wonder what happend. Ah well. FFV will keep me busy for a long time when I get it. Anyone gonna try to beat Omega? Or beat Odin in 60 seconds without using Shorukens?

I got mine at Wal-Mart. It scanned in at the register for $16.88 Canadian. That's under $15.00 USD. You guys are getting screwed!

i picked it a day or two after launch at best buy. I wanted to pick it up at Gamestop but they were all out of it so they gave me the guide for 20% off anyways since they didn't have it. Then I went to Best Buy a day or two later and found it at $29.99 and used my $10 rewards coupon.

Awesome.

I still haven't opened it though. FFXII needs playing, Gears of War needs playing, and it'll be hard enough to get through those with Guitar Hero 2 around.
