couldn't find a previous thread on it, but the local gamestop has a functional wii display, only one catch, they want your driver's licence and a credit card in order for them to give you the wii remote to try it out

Fixed. Now, I can put the question mark up.

.?
:/

Why would they need that? It's not like you're driving it around the block.. Well, not literally.. LOL

So you don't steal the wii remote...isn't it obvious?

I didn't think of that. But it's worthless without the sensor bar.

I have actually noticed that very few of the ones near me are being used. The requirement for the DL has cut out the kids that come in since they do not have one :(

Kind of a shame seeing them just sit there.

Which confuses me as to why nintendo didn't just chain them to the deck. The mind confuzzles.

Might be worthless now, but not when you have a Wii and you need another controller.

As for chaining them down, it would be kind of hard when you have to swing the controller like a bat. The chain would then be wrapped around you.

Yeah, really. Isn't what they did with the 360 displays?

I think they want to emphasize the wirelessness...ess of the console. That's the only logical explanation I can think of.

I dunno, I think chaining them to the units would kinda defeat the purpose of the Wiimote. Your movements dictate the action, so if your movement is constricted, the action/fun/experience would be also.

Ding ding ding. We have a winner.

And by the way, we don't require a credit card, just a drivers license or something equal to that. A guy gave me his birth certificate once.

So now the real question. How does it play?

I'm avoiding playing or seeing one in person until I buy mine next Sunday. I want to be a Wii Virgin. ;) In the same way I'm a real virgin.

I stopped at EB and Gamestop on my way home from work and neither had it. All they have are a couple posters.

I can definitely understand your point. I have been avoiding any of the recent videos of Zelda just so I can be blown away come next week.

BTW, are any of your local gamestops doing a midnight launch next Saturday night? I just came from mine and they are. I'll be meeting a couple of friends there to join in. They are also having some other games to play at the store for an hour or 2. :D

The ones in my area have the truck off road demo. I wish they had something else. This demo does nothing for me.
I would have put the boxing one in to show the interaction at its best.

The only thing that people do is try to steer the truck with the remote a semi turn off.

There is one at my local Gamestop. The unit was placed right next to the 360 demo unit. To my surprised the Wii was hooked up to a Samsung LCD display, which is very nice BUT.....the Nintendo Rep hooked it up using composite O_O why would he do that ???? Excite Truck looked like crap because of this. This is in no way of showing off some of the graphics that the Wii can output. Sure the Wii isn't a powerhouse, but still it looked worse than a Gamecube due to composite and using a LCD (refer to my thread about the PS2 and composite with a Samsung LCD).

Wait, so i don't need a credit card? sweet, gotta find a gamestop in my area that has a setup, I'll give them my moped liscense, lol. Which is basically all i have of any particular value, unless my student id counts.
