There's a nice article at Games Radar giving their take on the 101 greatest
gaming moments in video games.
Here (http://www.gamesradar.com/us/xbox/game/news/article.jsp?articleId=20061110135047134024&sectionId=1006&releaseId=20060321155454701097)

They mention moments from both Half Life & Half Life 2, but if I were to think
of unforgettable moments from either game, it would be their uncanny ability
to elicit feelings of vertigo from me. I'm not one to get motion sickness or
have any other kinds of physical reactions while playing games, but leaping
across clumps of rocks in space in Half Life or picking my way across wind swept
bridge girders in Half Life 2 had me genuinely afraid to look down! I never even
knew I was afraid of heights until I played those games.

-_-

They completely ignored the first 20 years of gaming. 95% of their list is post-1999 stuff, the remaining 10% is post 1995 stuff. Evidently, nothing great ever happened in any games not made within the last 6 years. Weak.

The rocket launching off the pad in Tetris was far more entertaining that a lot of that list.

No kidding. It's a good idea, and they've actually picked out some pretty good moments from the most recent generation, but it's such a shortsighted list it's annoying. Whoever wrote it might be 16yrs. old but that doesn't mean they can't pull some of the older systems out of their older brother's closet once and awhile.

I'm sure they are under pressure to "promote" games by companies that regularly send them materials for review or buy advertising space on their little page. Even if that "promotion" comes in the form of a random list that maybe 7,000-8,000 people will ever read.

For example, Nintendo would rather have them talk about "great moments" in a Zelda game that came out in the past few years than one that was released some 20 years ago on the NES.
