My friend lives in Buffalo, and his local Best Buy is getting 90 Wii's. The store opens at 8 AM, what time do you think he should get there?

I am thinking around 3 AM, he says 4 AM. I think it's better to be safe than sorry.

at exactly 7:59:30 be standing outside of the car in the parking lot. At 7:59:45 run full speed at the door. Theoretically speaking you'll hit the entrance right when the doors are unlocked and have a running start vs. everyone elses standing start. Also they will be stiff from standing out in the cold for hours, while your friend will be fresh.

its foolproof I say!

Seriously, don't even worry about Wiis selling out, simply show up at BB at 8 am (get a good sleep with some warm breakfast before you head out), if that option runs out, go to ToysRUs right away, each store is getting a minimum of 100 units, some are getting 150 and even 200 depending on the markets, as for Buffalo it will be at leat 150. Nintendo always have very tight relationship with TRU.

I personally like TRU WAY better than BB because I don't like the sales tactics at BB, at console launch sales clerks will shove all the acessories, warranties, etc down your throat.

Why not just compromise and say 3:30AM
