who knows about that soundless, beta Batman beat 'em up?

i mistakenly listed it as a snes game, but i found out that was a different batman game which wasn't even a beat 'em up. i saw a few screens for this game years ago, its a beat 'em up without sound and only two levels. it might have been an arcade game beta. large sprites btw.

I have the ROM on this hard drive somewhere, and I'm almost positive it's a SNES title. If it's not, it's on the Genesis.

well I own the unreleased snes Batman: Revenge of the Joker proto. It is a side scrolling beat ' em up, and seems pretty complete to me. Not sure if this is the game you're thinking of or not.

There's the Batman one that PI's talking about and then there's the Batman:ROJ game. Both are SNES protos/betas. They both play on ZSNES and they are both two unique games.

You know, from those screenshots, I think that with the very large sprites and all, this might have been a good game for Batman fans that had a GameGear. I would buy it (if I saw it rly cheep as those are the only GG games I buy after I bought over 100 for $50 and have slight trouble remembering what I do and dont have).

I guess it must be a very early alpha so I shouldn't judge it too harshly, but good heavens does it look attrocious.

I just looked up Software Creations and I see that they were a dev house for Acclaim, which I probably could have guessed from looking at those screens. Maybe it wasn't such an early alpha after all.

The game totally blows. It's not even an Alpha version! You only have one punch, one kick, and a jump button. And that's it.

... and it's still better than many of Acclaim's games...

You can barely call it two levels. There's no boss for the second and the enemies are the same as the first. Joker is the boss of the first level and isn't very difficult to beat. The enemies can beat your health bar all the way down and you still don't die. Check out this pic of when Joker attacks you. The whole game reminds me of Cliffhanger but really short, though I understand that it is a work in progress.
