I just preordered the official first party componet cables from EB games.com for $29.99, but it has the release date as December 15th? So i figured they just put that down because they were not sure what day later this week they would get them, but i called Gamestop earlier this evening and the employee said that they will not be out until at least early December. He then said that Nintendo did the same thing with the Gamecube componet cables after it launched. Well i own a 32inch Samsung LNS3241D lcd tv, and composite cables look like crap on it, and i want to enjoy Twilight Princess in all of its 480p glory. So why would Nintendo make us wait to play the game for another month if we want to play it with progresive scan? Because i do not want to play it in 480i with composite cables, i want to get the best posible picture out of what will probably be the greatest game ever created. And besides Perry Kaplin already stated that they would be available online and in stores on launch at particapating retailers. So what the heck is going on on? I want to play Zelda when it comes out with progresive scan, but we need the componet cables at launch to do that. I know that i am not the only one who wants the same thing. And what is up with the third party cables costing fifty bucks and being released earlier according to EBgames.com?

Did anyone determine if the Cube component cables work with Wii?

They don't. Different size plugs.

Don't believe the date from EB/GS either. The cables are done (proof as many reviewers requested and received them through Nintendo).

Just grab the 3rd party component cables then.

They will be just as good as nintendos...

She did, but she never mentioned anything about nintendo's. From what I've seen online, Best Buy will be carrying 2 component cables at launch, one for $25 the other $50.

Too expensive. And I prefer first party quality.

Id think yourself lucky, even though shops are taking preorders
here in Aus some suppliers who are the nintendo resellers are
telling me there is a big chance they wont reach retail stores
and only be available through Nintendo

And Slate can you give me a price on the third party cables?
surely they are not as expensive as first party?

Supposedly, The 3rd party component cables will cost either $50 or $60 USD.

No, they won't. Those are placeholder prices, they will be $19.99-$29.99.

There will be absolutely no difference in picture quality. I've done cable comparisons on an Imaging Science Foundation calibrated CRT, and there's never been a picture quality difference due to cables.

Dec 15th is BS.

They will be available at most retailers this Saturday at midnight if your local stores are doing a midnight launch party.

I find it funny that people are believing EB/GS considering how much negative feedback they have recieved around here.

Lesson 1 for today: Don't trust everything you see on the internets.

Lesson 2: Anthony1 is deathly ill, for he has not posted in this thread. ;)

"Due to high demand, our initial allotment of the Wii Component Video Cables has been depleted. We expect to begin shipping again the week of November 28, 2006."

hey Ry Jon-Jinn I have the same exact TV as you. Just purchased it last week from CCity. I agree Zelda looks like POOP on it. How are you liking the TV otherwise?
