This is really crappy of TRU to pull this kind of a thing but here goes:
There's no other way to put it. If you put down money on a Wii at TRU, you've been scammed. Across two hemispheres, they've lured prospective customers in with deals that seemed (and obviously turned out to be) too good to be true, and are now trying to pull a swift one to get out of it.
In Canada, a previously announced Wii pre-order deal where you got the console, an extra controller and an extra game for $280 has been pulled. Its replacement is also $280, and includes...just the console.
In Australia, pre-order posters screamed, "Pre-order for your FREE GAME", and curious consumers were informed by well-meaning TRU staff that the "free game" would be anything from a game of their choosing to Twilight Princess. Turns out you get a free copy of Open Season. Hoo. Ray.
Yeah, people should know better than to trust shady-looking deals. That still doesn't make this kind of skullduggery OK. At least online bundle rorts are up-front about it.

From Gamestop's announcement to TRU pulling this...what next??
