Maybe the zombie was the sophisticated type and decided he could not eat without a knife and fork. I mean there are people like that they will eat every thing with some sort of utensil. The zombie probably kept that characteristic.

But seriously the idea of zombies using weapons is not completely absurd. Think about most zombie movies the undead are usually carrying some sort of object to take a whack at you with...why not some nice kitchen ware.

Some of the most primative creatures use some object to assist in an action, why can't a zombie carry around silverwear? Truthfully though, I think it was a person that killed a fellow living human because:
1) There's no decaying or missing body parts
2) If attacked by a zombie surely he'd be partially eatten
3) If a zombie took even a bite then that person is a zombie

So for #3, why isn't the body up and moving around? I'm sure there's someone with a PHD in zombies and will clearify this.
