Lol, the stephen Colbert boxing clip was funny. Ya, Baseball, Boxing and Tennis are really fun. My favorite sports on the game. I kick ass in baseball I'm pro in it in the game.

I'm diggin the Wii Sports. First game my buddies and I played, and let me tell you it's a blast when you get a whole crew over to play it!
Bowling, Golf, and Tennis tended to be the big hits among that crowd, although my uncles and dad liked boxing most.

Get this... When I first saw Nintendo's ads with older folks playing the Wii I though - pfff, THAT'S gonna happen!
Guess what!? It freakin' did!
I got stuck working on Thanksgiving and my girlfriend brought the Wii over to her mother's house (her mother is 64). Apparently they both had an absolute blast with Bowling and Golf! As far as I know her mother has never played a videogame in her entire life!
Amazing.
Now we all can't wait until a Wii version of Mario Golf comes out!

Gonna see if I can actually convince the parents to take part in playing something... sooner or later!

I love Wii Sports and I find myself playing a little every day (except now since Zelda is engulfing my life)....Bowling is my favorite, and really the others all are good. Excellent idea to turn this into a pack-in and it really helps to show what the future can be for the Wii.

My kids and I love to play Wii sports. My daughters ask to play it all the time, they love to play bowling. That and being able to create Mii's that look like them is something else they enjoy.

My parents lost interest in video games when the N64 was released. They just didn't "get" the whole 3D thing. Well, it's like old times again with Wii Sports! No sooner had I plugged in the Wii, there they were... playing bowling ALL night long! It was nothing short of a blast... and good to see my parents playing video games again! Maybe Nintendo really is onto somethin here... but who knows for sure just yet... only time will tell.

I got a chance to play the Wii last night, and it was awesome. Wii sports was the only multiplayer game the person had (they had Zelda, and we watched him play for quite some time) and he had 3 remotes, said he couldn't find a 4th. Let me tell you, that is so much fun. Everyone got really into it, and Tennis seemed to be the most popular one. There were people there who didn't even know what it was, but they were intrested in playing and it seemed like they all really liked it. I can't wait to (eventually) get a Wii!

Here are some of my Tales of Wii Sports.....
Launch night- I had some guest over and they accompanied me to the Game store for the midnight launch. I had picked up Trauma Center and an extra Wii remote earlier that day. Anyways we get home and hook it up and proceed to play Wii Sports. Well this is all we did til 4am when we decided to call it a night. Overall impression - impressive!
Through out the weeks to follow various friends of mine would drop by, many of them not gamer types - they wanted to "see" PS3, but I offered them to "play" some Wii sports. Result - They forgot about PS3 and wanted to play another round of bowling or baseball.
My 5 year old daughter is in love with the Wii. She plays VERY well in bowling and can do pretty good in tennis too. This game is truly for the entire family.
Wii Sports has made its everlasting mark in video game history!!

Wii Sports is, for my money, unmatched right now in terms of pure fun factor.
My personal favorite is the Bowling, and the only gripe I can think of is that they didn't at least include an option to move your guy around in tennis with the nunchuk. The family is having a blast with it though.
I'm really looking forward to more games like this. Simple, and fun.

I wonder where all the people complaining about being forced to buy this game with the system went to?
No complaints anymore huh?!

Seems like everyone likes bowling the most....strange....it was one of my least favorites. I suck at it. No love for wii sports Baseball? Even though the rules are tweaked so goddamned much?

I like bowling the best but baseball is right there as my favorite. I just tried boxing for the first time last night as my friend brought his nunchuck over and its pretty decent. As I was saying bowling AND baseball are my top games right now. I guess that being in Detroit and the season the Tigers had, its also enjoyable to play baseball and really feel like a major leaguer even if the game has "national league rules" - pitchers have to bat too :)

My girlfriend bought a Wii today and i'm loving Wii Sports! Only problem I have is in bowling, the darn ball always curves to the left.
Been playing for a few hours already :D

Well if you're right handed, that's pretty much a given :p
(as a leftie, it curves to the right, just it depends on your actual action. My brother seems to curve it more than me, and I curve it more than his girlfriend. Just have to adjust, plot and work out how to get strikes!)
Speaking of which, best in bowling so far is a 256 frame. How 8-bit apt heh.

Ya same here! It is always curving.

Ya same here! It is always curving.
You have to learn how to not curve it if you don't want to. It's all in how you follow through and when you release the ball. I've actually been able to curve it the opposite way sometimes. However, to bowl the high scores, curving is essential. You need a good curve to throw frequent strikes.

I expected to play Wii Sports for maybe 15 minutes then pack it away forever, but it's been some of the most fun I've had with a game all year. That instant 91 pin strike trick in Bowling is awesome. The only game I don't really dig is Golf. It just didn't work out too well.

I gotta say that Wii sports impressed me too. I fully thought I would play it for a bit and that would be all but nope! I can say that it was a big hit when family came over for Thanksgiving (my cousins husband got so excited he almost hit his own kid with the Wiimote! lol). I like every game except maybe for boxing and baseball is so-so. I really like tennis, golf and bowling. Nothing beats seeing someone launch the bowling ball backwards into the crowd :)

In bowling, when I want to throw the ball relatively straight I picked up a little trick...
What you do is bring it back like you normally would, then kind of flick the wiimote over your shoulder and towards the right a bit, like you're chucking something behind you. I don't know why it works, and it's not really all that graceful, but it works. It's not a solid bet for getting a lot of strikes, but really good for picking up spares.

My best is only 235, but anyway, here's my strategy:
From middle position, move two clicks to the left (or right). Roll the remote about 45 degrees to the right and keep it there. Then, toss the ball so that it goes up into the air and then hits the floor. If done properly, this is a very accurate way to hit strikes. I hit 6 in a row tonight.
