Here is in-game footage of Call of Duty 3 from all three nextgen consoles. Watch the video. Which one do you think looks best?

well the Wii version looks the worst, but is that realy a surprise?
I think the 360 version looks the best, it seems to have the highest level of detail and the best colors and shadows. The PS3 version to me looks a little soft and washed out.

360>ps3>wii
The Wii one looks really bad compared to those, but its all about gameplay in my mind. At times though the ps3 looks comparable to the Wii.
When it comes to games like this, I am only going to get them for the 360 and just get the games I know would be a blast on the Wii.

This seems to be the general concensus, and it is definitely making me lean toward the 360 over the PS3.

Yeah, CoD3 looks better on 360. You also get that awesome Live play with the 360. I have 4 friends on right this second, and it's making me want to go pick it up.
Uh, medic? Yes.

Is that the only reason?
Well, I'm a 360 fan as well... but they have had quite a head start learning the system, so it's not a surprise to me 360 looks awsome compared to ps3, since that system just came out... it'll be about 6 months at least before I think I'll see some games showing the ps3 power.
Although I'm not buying one, it'll be neat to see though!

I would say go with the 360 over the PS3 right now, especially if you're not ready to pick a side in the HD movie war. The PS3 forces Blu-Ray on you, and as a result is $200 more than the 360.
To me there is nothing on the PS3 that justifies even the $500 price tag. Sure I know I bought a premium 360 + the HD-DVD add-on, but those purchases were made separately months apart, and no one made me get HD, I wanted it. Had it been a built in feature of the 360 and jacked the price up to $500+ I wouldn't have bought it.
Though I wouldn't rule out a PS3 all together, I think it'll be a great system in a few years when the price drops a few hundred and the developers learn more about it.
I would just say that if you want to get a next gen system right now, the 360 seems like the best choice.

And the 360 forces a DVD9 player on you.
Anyway, the 360 version is better overall. The online part (which is very important) is also better and more worked on than the PS3 version. However, considering that the PS3 version is a launch title and that PS3 got a completely new architecture (CELL) its not too bad. 360 is already 1 year old and uses a much more known architecture, PowerPC. When developers get to know CELL more im sure you will see the difference.

Just like the Dreamcast was comparable to anything on the Gamecube. ;)

It's my main reason. The price difference isn't a major factor to me. I know the PS3 is $200 higher, but if you add HD-DVD on to the 360 then the two systems are the same price. So yeah, if the same game looks that much better on one system than the other, then that will be a big deciding factor for me.
The other factor would be that there are 360s for sale in this state and apparently no PS3s available for hundreds of miles.

Ok good. I was just making sure you had considered the other selling points-availability, cost, controls.

Well of course the Wii looks like the ugly duckling. Isn't it only as powerful as the original Xbox? I have the game and I will say. The Wiimote is fantastic. I love how precise I can aim. HEAD SHOTS GALORE!

Yes, that was one of the first things I noticed, too. Control is very much like Red Steel for movement and reloading. I also like the other uses of the controls like the vehicle driving, close-quarters combat and setting up explosives. I'm really enjoying it so far.
Just as a side note, I had CoD2 on the 360 and it looked amazing so I can only imagine how CoD3 looks. The graphics are not nearly as good on the Wii, of course, but the control schemes are more than making up for it, IMHO. I'm sure I'll get it for 360 later but the controls are making it a much more fun experience for me.

if you go by Mhz this is true but the processor is an over devloped RISC processor made by IBM so its got a hell of alot more thinkin power than a sex-box had, not to mension the ati chip is unique aswell
I'd be interested in the Wii version.. but no multi! I'll be renting it to check it out though, sounds like a totally diffrent game with that aiming system.

There's already been a patch to fix it. I didn't have a problem because I bought the game after the patch was released. I assume you've started up CoD3 while connected to Live. Maybe you should clear your cache, the patch might have downloaded badly and could be corrupt. Clearing the cache deletes the patch, so you can download it again.
