So, my local Gamecrazy has this for sale. I was thinking of picking it up, but I've read online that some games have graphic problems, some get damaged, etc. I searched this forum for any opinions but the results are blank.
So, for anyone here who has one, is it worth it? The compalibility list doesn't bother me so much (yeah, I'm highly dissapointed that I'll never be able to play Cheetahmen II) and for the games I have are mostly just minor graphic glitches. So, what's all your takes?
(Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this, btw)

You know, I remember when the NEX was first released. The people behind it did their damnedest to obscure the fact that it was a rather poor FamiChip-based Famiclone with some snazzy trim, and yet tried to sell it to the kind of people who would care about details like that. This bit of dishonesty didn't go over too well with a lot of people(myself included), and I'd reccommend going with, well, anything else.
There's other NES clones out there, most of which are anywhere from half to a third of the price. They do the exact same thing the NEX does (that is to say they run NES games just as badly), with the exact same chipset. You'd be better off tracking down one of those.
This is of course provided you can't track down a real NES, which can't be completely impossible and is the best course of action.

I have an NES, but I figured I could use a NEX as a back-up, just in case. Also, it has A/V cords. A/V cords are damn sexy.

If you're in need of a backup, I'd advise just picking up another toaster.

I never really had a problem with mine.. i thought it was an awesome look, kinda bad graphically but overall better than the yobo! I would put the 60 in for a Toploader and do the AV mod to it. Thats where its love. Blast the toaster!

Not worth it, to me anyway. My girlfriend got me one last Christmas, and I had alot of problems. It didn't play very many games well, for example, colors were off in Megaman and Faxanadu. The worst part though was the sound. It is very low, and I had to run the sound through a stereo to get any decent audio.
Sorry for the mini-rant. It wasn't worth the $60. If you can get it for $15 or less, sure go for it.

I use an actual NES for NES gaming, but I wouldn't mind having a NEX and that snappy arcade stick, they'd look good in the collection display I think.
