Thought you might get a kick out of this. My g/f works at the local Wal-Mart in the vision center. A mom and her two kids (less than 10 years old, I guess) came in and one had a black eye. She asked him what happenned and the other brother said "I punched him in the face." She said, "That's not very nice. Why would you do that?" He said, "No, we were just playing Wii and I accidentally punched him in the face!"

:D :D :D

Ah, those Wii controllers are just WMDs, no?

Yeah, those Wiimotes are dangerous for sure.

Just imagine if you were on the receiving end of this guy's overhead smash!

I think a very marketable idea for the Wii would be a grip glove, instead of just having that strap for safety. It would help to cut down on damaged product, be fairly cheap to produce, and from a sales standpoint, would serve to generate supplementary revenue. Not like they need it, but hey.

Edit: Heh, nevermind.

No, people (not small children mind you, adults) are just stupid. Anyone who swings the thing around like that deserves whatever minor injury might get inflicted on them or their hardware.

I've never played a Wii, but I would think it's common sense that you don't need to swing the remote like Mike Tyson or Anna Kournikova to play the game properly.

I think those kids should give their Wii to Mii, since it's obviously a dangerous toy for them to be playing with. Safety first! LOL

I can't wait to get a Wii so I can destroy my TV and windows and house guests. LOL

Forget violence in video games, Jack Thompson. Now we're gonna have to deal with violence actually caused by the video games.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I have NO IDEA how people are breaking stuff and hitting each other with their Wiimotes. I've had tons of people over playing mine (some hardcore gamers and alot who've never touched a videogame before) and NO ONE has come close to letting go of the remote, hitting someone, or lodging the thing in my TV. In fact, given the frequency of these "reports", I really doubt the validity of most of them.

And for those that are true; take some ritalin, sit down, HOLD THE DAMN REMOTE, and stop acting like a drunken frat kid who is out of his parent's house for the first time.

I don't know why this angers my so much. But it does. :P

It probly angers you because its negative publicity against Nintendo hehe :p Seriously, what i know its been reported like 10-20 cases where the Wiimote have destroyed things due to losing the controller, not really alot. Its no secret that the wristband is lousy quality. When people get alittle too excited in the game the controller might slip easy and because the wristband isnt strong it breakes. Maybe we will see some 3rd party accessories like this? ;) lol.

Instead of "Wii will, wii will rock you" It's "Wii will Wii will hurt you, Wii will Wii will punch you" For those who remember that on the boards.

It wouldnt suprise me if Nintendo is getting sued for something like the wriststrap is breaking hehe. Its USA you know, there they sue for everything.

I'v only had my wii for a few days, and i'v had a few people play it, and i still have no idea how/and why it happens, i think most of it, is negative press generated by other companies! Just to scare of the moms and dads, that think there kid is gunna kill themselves with the wiimote! LOL

One little thing.. i think the cable from the wiimote to the nunchuck could be an extra 5 or 6 inches longer.. Anyone else think it could have been abit longer (No ex-girlfriend jokes please LOL)

And too those idiots that swing and throw the wiimote, its pretty sensitive so just light little flicks do the job everytime. that guy in the Youtube clip that hammers it and breaks the strap, then acts like.. WHY that happen.. Moron!

If only it had bounced back had hit him in the head, that would have been genius!
