I'm getting rid of my Commodore Amiga 500. Anyone want it? You'll have to pay for shipping of course... which could be as high as $100 thanks to the big, heavy monitor.
Or, you could come pick it up in Maryland for free.
If no one wants it, I'll just junk it. Thanks to emulators, the hardware is no longer needed.

Saying Amiga 500 for sale doesn't say much. A base A500 boxed is worth around 10-15 bucks before shipping. People look for the A1000's and A500's with all the extra's, like the 2 meg of memory or in the case of the A500 one of those 20 meg HD's. Most people opt for either the A1000 (AV out included) or an A3000 (can use any standard SVGA PC monitor.) I have an A1000 I've owned from day one and an A3000 I got for $50.00 that I used primaraly to take my .adf files to floppy. PC->parallel cable->A3000->HD->ADFblizer-> play the game on the A1000.. without the HD it's almost impossible to make ADF floppy images as the images are bigger then the floppies themselves (the only way to do this with a A500/A1000 w/o a HD was to import the .adf file into RAM then to floppy.)
Please if your going to sell computers include any add ons and also things like mice and ext. floppies.. just saying A500 w/monitor doesn't really say much. Hell what model monitor is it? (and shipping for a 19" monitor is only $30.00 so don't go pulling the $100 shipping shtick)

I'm not "pulling" anything. Drop the accusation.

I'm not accusing you of anything except thinking about charging $100 for shipping a 14" monitor and a keyboard console. That's just what your post says..

sigh..

Yup, this does belong in Buying and Selling. Let's see if I can dupe POG's and Atar1g1rl's moves here....

I said it COULD...COULD...COULD be as high as $100. Which means it could be a lot LESS than $100. Go back to grammar school and learn to read.
I simply wanted to warn potential takers that shipping costs a great deal of money.
Repeat: Learn to READ what people write.

rarr.. so catty..
I did read it, hell I quoted it.. lol :) Why cover your ass on shipping charges when your giving the thing away for free was my point. you could charge $200 for "shipping" for all I care.. but why not just say amiga 500 with HD and monitor for $50 shipping charges will be from 14323 for 32 pounds?
