I just recently found this cart at a local shop. They were selling it as a knock-off genesis cart, but it looked all famicom to me. Can anyone give me more info on this particular cart? I plugged it into my gyromite adapter and played it through, it is an 84 in 1 cart with some pretty decent renditions of popular games on it with, surprisingly, no repeats.
There is some sloppy english phrasing on the back of the cart also: "Remarks: Since this is a sophisticated apparatus should avoid to operate or to store extreme temperature. also avoid violent bumps is necessary; moreover, never disassemble it. The reasons causing defouts are:Touching the endfield by hands, or cleaning by wet materials."
This is an exact quotation, with correct (incorrect) spacing, spelling and everything. I know that there is a cheap Power Joy joystick device out there, but I've never heard mention of a cart specifically coming with that Power Joy. The label reads "Power-Joy PJ-008" on the front, as you see in the pic.
Any info you guys can get together for me would be nice, thanks.

The extended piece off the cart is the adapter I'm using, btw.

My guess is that its from one of those newer Famiclones, NES-on-a-chip machines.

Hmm, does anyone know which NOAC this goes to then? I have the Yobo and it didn't even come with a famicom adapter, much less a cart.

I've got one like that, goes with, surprise, a NOAC called Power Joy. It's kinda like an n64 ripoff controller (the middle is a lightgun) and it also comes with a second player snes-esque controller.

Ah, thanks. I've actually seen something like that before. Any idea on how common it is? Or whether it's worth much? Also, was it released in America or elsewhere? I noticed alot of the games are still in Japanese.

I got mine a few years ago new for about ten bucks, I also see the main controller in thrifts occasionally. I've attached some pictures. The main unit also has ten games built in, in addition to the 84 on the cart.

The system is for sale in the U.S., it's one of those things you buy like from a seller at a flea market or maybe a kiosk in the mall around Christmas time. There's no real gegion for a thing like this, though. Pirate stuff is regionless.

Rarity of pirate cartridges is hard to judge and generally has nothing to do with value. The value of multicarts is dependent on what games are on it. I would guess that a cart like this would just contain all the usual suspects from a Famicom multicart, which means basically mapper 0 games with one or two bigger games like Contra or TMNT thrown in.

Yeah. I was actually surprised at the quality of games on it, though. Adventure Island, Legend of Kage, 1942, Bomber Man etc. All decently accurate. Thats why I was suspicious of where it came from. Had it been 14 different versions of Contra in varying color schemes, I would have put it on my shelf and never even asked. I would recommend it for fans of cheap-o multi carts, one of the nicer ones I've played.

This site made a review of the multi. It's one of the best NES multi out there. Did you play Pandamar? http://www.famicomworld.com/Pirated/Power_Joy_008_PIR.htm

Hell yeah, It's a SMB rip playing as a Panda, a bomb ass little game if you ask me. I like how you can automatically choose your level at the start too. I also liked Poonyan and ASCII, not sure what it stands for but it's a dodgeball game that has you playing as a penguin, neat.
Thanks for the link, some good info on pirates there.

I have the Power Joy without the cart and the Power Joy III. I didn't realize that the point in the middle of the Power Joy was a light gun. Then again, I haven't tried it out since I bought it. I did however try out the Power Joy III. I mostly got that to be able to play Famicom games on it. I thought that I was screwed since I didn't have the cart that they came with until I realize the Power Joy III came preloaded with 19,999 games, IIRC.

Are there really that many? That seems ridiculously insane! Where'd you find the PJ III? Since my cart is PJ 008, Is there 7 more (at least) floating around somewhere?

Oops, my bad. I don't have the Power Joy III, I have the Super Joy III. They look the same. It has 12,000 games built in. There are TONS of duplicates. I got that and the Power Joy I for a quarter each at a local rummage sale.

Hate to reply to my own post, but on a related note: was out at a mall tonight and saw a kiosk selling the Super Joy III package and some other multi-game type package. I think the Super Joy was $40.
