content or ads? Content related is slim pickings. The most notable would be the swordquest book and the twisted metal promo book. Ad related there's lots out there. I like the spidey 312 full back cover ad for bubble bobble.

That's asking a lot. Still, you would've thought there'd have been such a list by now. Even naming just the Batman, Superman and Spider-Man games would probably fill a few pages...

There's only one game you need: Superman 64. Great game.

One that seems to get overlooked all the time is Chakan: The Forever Man (Genesis, GG). A lot of people that I've talked to think it's an original Sega game when in fact it was based on a comic series by Robert A. Kraus.

It would be a huge list. You also have to put parameters around it. Some characters didn't start out in comics but had comic titles. I'll start with the nes titles, others can fill in other systems:
NES
comic characters that started in comics
Batman
Batman ROTJ
Batman returns
Captain America
Marvel's X-men
Punisher
Rocketeer
Silver Surfer
Spiderman
Spy vs Spy
Superman
Swamp Thing
TMNT 1,2,3,and fighters
Wolverine
started elsewhere but had comics printed:
Barbie (toy line )
Bugs Bunny birthday (cartoon character but there were comics)
Bugs Bunny crazy castle
Conan (book character but there were comics)
Dick Tracy (comic strip character but there were comic books too)
Dracula (book character but there were comics)
Duck Tales 1 & 2 (tv show but there were comics)
Empire strikes back (movie but comics exist)
Felix the Cat (started as a comic strip but comics exist)
Frankenstein (started as book)
GI joe (started as toy)
GI joe atlantis factor
Gilligan's island (tv show/comics)
Jetsons (ditto)
Krusty's fun house (ditto)
Little Nemo (comic strip/ comics)
Lone Ranger (tv show/comics)
Mario Bros (game/comics)
Mario is Missing
Mario Time Machine
Mickey's mousecapade (cartoons/comics)
Mickey numberland
Mickey letterland
Popeye
Ren & Stimpy
Rocky & bullwinkle
simpsons titles x3
Snoopy silly sports
Star Trek x2
Star Wars
SMB x3
Talespin
Three stooges
Tom & Jerry

Duck Tales 1 & 2 (tv show but there were comics)
Since the show was based on a 40's comic series, I'd say DuckTales belongs in the first list.

I disagree. Duck Tales started as a TV show. There was no launchpad mcquack in the comics until the 1980s. There was no "Ducktales" comic book until the 1980s.
Donald and the nephews first appeared in cartoons in the 30s/40s.
The only one that appeared in the comics first was scrooge.

Not exactly. Although Launchpad was indeed original to the TV show (in the comics Scrooge was the accomplished aviator). The entire DuckBurg universe was originally created in comic book form by Carl Barks. In fact, the many of the early episodes from DuckTales were direct comic book adaptations.
While Donald and his nephews may have originated from cartoons, the show centers around Scrooge McDuck with Donald only making the occasional cameo appearance. Scrooge was Carl Bark's character, and originated in comic form along with just about all of the show's central villans and many supporting characters: Magica Despell, Flinthart Glumgold, The Beagle Boys, Gladstone Gander, Gyro Gearloose, Goldy, ETC.
The stories may not have been called "DuckTales", but there would have never been a show at all without them. And Scrooge McDuck is just as much an original comic figure as Batman or Superman despite their numerous serial, film, and cartoon adaptations.

I know; I've read pretty much every Barks story ever written. But at the end of the day the game is called Duck Tales, and "Duck Tales" started as a TV Show.
It may have had elements, including some characters from the prior comics, but there were enough new elements such as Launch Pad, the cheesy Scottish accent, etc., that its a new entity. If the game was called "Uncle Scrooge" I'd agree with you.

There was also a Batman Returns game for the Atari Lynx.
Games I recall for the original Playstation include Batman & Robin, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, Batman Forever: The Arcade Game, Batman: Gotham City Racer, The Incredible Hulk: The Pantheon Saga, Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro, X-Men vs. Street Fighter, X-Men: Children of the Atom, X-Men: Mutant Academy and X-Men: Mutant Academy 2. Did I miss any?
That first Spider-Man game was also made for the N64 and the Dreamcast.

Here's a list of all of the Batman video games
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman_computer_and_video_games
Wikipedia may be a decent source if you look up the specific character and look at the Other Media sections of the articles. There's no article just on Comic Book Video Games on Wikipedia, though.
