My XBOX died a long time ago so I bought the PS2 and PC versions. This is one barrier that prevented me from buying an XBOX360. I'm glad Psychonauts is now playable.

god, the backwards compatibility list just keeps getting better and better. I hear the BC removes region coding, too...so apparently you'll be able to play those jpn games on a US system (I know you can play the US games on a JPN system, but I haven't read anything about someone trying the opposite...don't see why it wouldn't work).

I've already resolved to pull the trigger on a 360 about two weeks before Halo 3 comes out (thus giving me enough time to work through Halo 2 and then smoothly transition into Halo 3), and the continual improvements to the BC only further up my desire to bump up the timetable on the purchase.

Come on MS....add Metal Wolf Chaos and I'll be your fanboy bitch until you go the way of Sega and stop making hardware to instead focus on shitty games that are a pale imitation of your previous glory.

... Still waiting for Outrun 2 and 2006 to hit the list ... :(

Good to see that Microsoft is still putting some time into BC though.

Ugh... Good news, but still waiting on the TimeSplitters games. Then I could finally put my original xbox into storage.

Great! Psychonauts and Destroy All humans are now playable on 360! Now i'm waiting for Destroy All humans 2, Doom 3: ROE, Indiana Jones and the Emporor's Tomb, And Midtown Madness 3 to hit the list.

Anyone that missed out on psychonauts, Don't hesitate to buy it. You can get it for $10 at TRU, New! And it's worth it! :)

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought I read somewhere that Doom 3: ROE was backwards compatible... have you tried it?

It's not listed (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backwardcompatibilitygameslist.htm), so I don't think it'd be possible. Don't games have to be explicitly supported to function at all?

Yeah, they do have to be explicitly supported... but they might have just left it off the list figuring it's the same as Doom 3? I don't know...

If that were the case then they wouldn't have listed the different versions of Blitz, Ninja Gaiden, or Medal of Honor ;)

All they really need now is Chronicles of Riddick and Oddworld Stranger.

Can anyone confirm this? There's a handfull of shmups I'd like to try, if the BC is enabled now.

Yeah I had that happen too.But my main gripe is how jaggie the game is.Its like the game has no AA at all.No matter what resolution I play it in its jaggie.I dont have this issue with any othe BC games.

This is not a huge suprise. Tim Schaefer (sp?) and everyone had to lobby to even get this on the BC list. They clearly didn't care much about how it turned out. A real shame...

Richard Burns Rally is on the BC list for the US but never was released, does anyone know if a UK copy of the game will work on a US Xbox 360?
