I apologize if this topic is against forum rules, but I was hoping to hear peoples' thoughts on this software, since I've never heard of it until now:

Seems like a pretty shady site, but an interesting sounding product, snce I hate using my original discs of anything (music, games, movies, whatever). Call it the obsessive collector in me that likes to keep everything pristine.
Anyway, has anyone used this? Just what systems does it work/not work for?

it's a load of doodie and I'd strongly advise against buying it.
If you're that anal about your stuff, you should look into a softmod for your Xbox w/ a larger hard drive so you can install the games to it and an HDLoader install on a memory card for your PS2 so that you can run (most of) your games off of a nice little 200gb hard drive in that.
Those shady duplication packages offer nothing that you can't get from more reputable sources and you're going to have to mod your systems to play the burns anyway.

I wouldnt get that either. If you want to take a backup of your game the easiest way is to use a cloning app (i assume the Game Copy Pro is something like this, but i would use another like Alcohol 120%, Blindwrite or simular). If you're not able to make a perfect clone, downloading the pirated version would be the easiest thing to do. But ye, as mentioned above, you do need a modchip or softmod (Xbox) to play the backups.

Looks like a rehash of a Game Copy Pro program that was made by the same folks that made DVD Copy Pro. Its junk software and there are better alternatives out there if thats your thing.

yea just rip down your originals yourself with all the decent free software out there. then throw them on a modded xbox with a large HDD. its what i do to backup my originals as my xbox scratches discs like a bastard for some reason.

Alcohol 120%, Blindwrite
Yes, I've heard of these and heard they were very feature-rich, and not super-newb friendly. I've heard tales of people burning a crapload of discs before they figured out how to teweak the settings right for these...well, at least for Alcohol 120%, don't know much about Blindwrite. Does anyoen find this to be true? How simple is it to burn X system's games? Does either program have advantages the other doesn't?

Are there other titles you recommend for this besides Alcohol 120% and Blindwrite? Besides Xbox, what about GC, PS, PS2, DC, whatever?
And yeah, that's my problem...as much as I like to keep things pristine, I always end up scratching my damn discs at some point.

If you're installing games to your harddrive on your PS2 then there's a program called, "WinHIIP" that takes care of it for you. For just ripping to an image then you can use DVD Decrypter to build DVD ISOs. For CD-based games (PS2 CDs, Saturn, PS1, etc), I've been using CloneCD for years now and love it. Pretty slick, simple interface, backwards compatible with the BIN/CUE format (generate a CUE when you rip the disc and rename the IMG to BIN), and supports subchannel data. Yum.
For Xbox games, you'd need a specific DVD ROM to be able to rip them to your hard drive. Generally, most people just install them straight from their Xbox DVD-ROM to their Xbox Hard Drive (which is why it's nice to have a nice big healthy hard drive in your Xbox :) ).
You're kinda boned on Gamecube games. There are some solutions out there, but nothing nearly as slick or nice as the Xbox and PS2 options. Ditto for the DC. What I've been doing for the Dreamcast is just downloading disc images of games I have and playing those (especially for my recent Japanese shmup purchases where I really want to keep those things in the best condition possible). It's not a totally optimal solution (sometimes you'll have to use a bootdisc if the warez group didn't build it as self bootable and sometimes there's missing features or additional load times), but it keeps my discs minty fresh.
As far as the PS1 goes, I'd recommend ripping them all with CloneCD and just playing them via emulation using ePSXe, ESSSPSX, or pSX Emulator (depending on the game).
Sorry that there's not really one simple and easy way to do everything :(

Unfortunatly i have hardly used these tools myself so i cant help you much there, sorry. I just know they are used to make backups for games. Alcohol 120% have different settings for making a image, one of them is called "Playstation 2", there is also one for "Playstation". I assume you select this setting if you want to make a PSX or PS2 backup. Dont know if theres more to it.

Any Xbox DVD drive will rip games, you just need the DVD2Xbox app sat on your 300Gb HDD ;) However, Samsung drives are preferred by 9/10 cats if you're planning to install XBMC (which you really should). A Samsung drive will generally read all disks, whereas Philips and Thompson drives are a bit crap when it comes to reading burnt/rewriteable DVDs/CDs.
Trouble with the GC is finding a suitable DVD media. If you can find mini DVDs that work then it's all good, just stock up on them. Otherwise you'll be on full-size DVDs and that's gonna mean a replacement case or modding. Oh, and that's after you've installed your mod-chip, which is very very easy.

Yea just softmod with GCOS and get a bigger case for 4.4gb dvds. I use all kinds of media now instead of the miniDVDs and works great for me on my Cube
