Any PS Underground members get their demo disc for this upcoming rpg yet? Comes with a cool poster with the disc wrapped inside it, along with a small pirate flag. So far, I'm enjoying this sci-fi themed rpg. Graphics look like that from DQ8, with the gameplay being like that of Kingdom Hearts.

I'm a member of the PSU and have never received any demos (or invitations to be in a demo) from them. I have no idea why :(

I was just surprised to see it when I got home from work tonight.

I got the demo disk at my local gamestop last week though I have not opened it. I am looking forward to this game when it comes out. I enjoy Level 5 work.

I got mine in the mail yesterday. I haven't opened it but I could tell it was more then just a disc. Hardcoregamer had an huge article on the game this month, it looks really good.

Rogue Galaxy looks great. I'll definitely be picking this game up. Keep those epic PS2 RPG's coming!

I had kind of a shitty evening. Had to go to an office Christmas party. Came home, checked the mail and was treated to a nice surprise. I'd been looking forward to this game for awhile now, I love Level 5's games. The Demo's nice, but the pirate flag's kickass.

I got mine today... I'm all for more PS2 demo's (I don't have enough honest!) but to package it in a fold of the poster is kinda poopy if you ask me. However the Pirate flag is cool in that random free crap kinda way.

I got mine a few days ago. I haven't played it since I'm concentrating on FFXII.

I simply cant wait for this game, RG, tomb raider, and god of war 2 are basicaly the only ps2 games I am left looking forward to. If it looks like DQ8 and plays like kingdom hearts, I cant wait.

This is one game that I've been waiting for since I heard it was released in Japan.

I got it for review and have been floored by how great it is. I had no idea what to expect as the game was just sort of assigned to me, but I'm impressed with how easy the battle system is to use, and with how much dimension the characters have. The voice acting is also fantastic, and adds a lot of life to the characters.

I got the demo with the pirate flag. It fascinated me right away since I'm somewhat obsessed with all things pirate.
The thing that blew me away the most about the demo was the art/visual style of the game. After playing the demo for a few minutes I was hooked and couldn't wait until the game was released.
So, yesterday during my lunch, I ran up to the mall with my buddy and we both picked up a copy. Played it for a few hours last night and managed to pull myself away after realizing I needed sleep...lol.

I heard from my buddy that it was pretty good (the demo) so we went to the mall at lunch break and each picked up a copy. Wait a second, FAN8228? you wouldn't happen to be.......nah

I picked up the game on Wednesday night and am about 4 hours in so far. The battle system is excellent. It reminds me of Devil May Cry with hit points. I'm not the first one to make that comparison, but it definitely does fit.

What I'm loving about this game is that it address just about every problem people have been having with JRPG's in the last generation. No loading times...check, common sense menu system...check, fun and accessible combat system...check. This is one of those games that you only see toward the end of a systems life...a game that seems to get everything right.

The game looks beautiful despite there being no 480p or widescreen support...mainly because Level 5 has mastered the art of cell-shading. It still amazes me what some developers can do with the PS2. I've been waiting for a great RPG since I finished FFXII early last December...and this one certainly fits the bill. Excellent game.

The game's out, so who bought it?

See my post above.

I'll add to my comments by saying the game gets significantly more difficult after you leave the jungle planet (about 5-6 hours in). If I were to give any advice, it would be to save, save, save (obvious in any RPG) and buy as many health potions as possible. The potions fill either 50% or 100% of your health bar regardless of your hit points. The enemies in this game don't seem difficult until a large group of them suddenly gang up on your party...which they will, repeatedly. Still, it's a great game and A-list quality title that hasn't been too common as of late (RPG-wise that is).

I would have to completely agree with you. Once you leave the Jungle planet the enemies become tougher and pop up more frequently and also I noticed that save points seem to be even further apart. So if you get the chance to save it, do so. And I learned the hard way about maxing out the amount of potions and revives you carry. You can never have too many.

I think I enjoy playing this game even more-so than FF XII. FF XII is a great game but theres just something about Rouge Galaxy that makes it a bit different, reminds me a little bit of Star Ocean 3 but much better. But when it all comes down to it, when you have a full time job, a girlfriend, a house to maintain, and get togethers with friends....there is only so much time to play RPGs.

only losers would pick their job, girlfriend, and friends over Rogue Galaxy LOL

I bought it the other day and played it a little bit. Reminds me of Dune meets Final Fantasy actually more than Star Wars. Like everyone else, I barely have time to play it. :(

Speaking of that, there NEEDS to be a Dune remake for the PS2/PS3 pronto. I would love to see Level-5 do it.
