10 Yard Fight Question

Just trying to find out if anyone knows of any other US released versions of this game or if was NES exclusive. I would also like to know if this game had a sequel. If anyone has some memories of the game that would be cool too. Thanks.

To the best of my knowledge it was only on the NES and no other console game.

It was made for the Japanese Sega Saturn on the IREM Arcade Classics.. its great.. it came with Zippy Race (Motorace USA here in the US), and Spartan X (Kung Fu Master here in the US). They are great games, I really enjoy 10 Yard Fight.

my memory of the game was that it was very bad...Not even near as good as Intellivision's football was for the time...

I have to admit that it was not an accurate football title, but it was a pretty accurate translation of the arcade game. The arcade game was really an offensive simulation because you never really played defense on the arcade or the Sega Saturn version. In fact, if you throw an interception you still control the ball but lose 20 yards. The game was race against time with the goal to make it to top and actually make a touchdown. For what it was I thought it was a lot of fun and since I am not really a sports gaming fan, I seem to always come back to it.

As plain as 10 yard fight was I always enjoyed playing it. Arcade and NES. ANd at the time it was not a bad 2 player football game for nes, until tecmobowl came out.

I remember cleansing my soul and my NES with a long bout of Tecmo Super Bowl after playing the "football game" you mention.

yep.me and my brother used to play 10 yard fight all the time until temco bowl came out and made 10 yard look like shit.

They have 10 Yard Fight at the beach front arcade. It's a quarter per game which is a bit expensive, should take nickles. :)

I actually loved 10 Yard Fight back in the day, and played it all the time. It had a simple, addicting quality. I replayed it recently (on the NES, I still have the cart) and while it is definitely rough, and had obviously been eclipsed by a number of other football titles, I still enjoyed a game or two of it. You can't think of it as a football sim, but more of an arcade game loosely based on football.
