Opera's website has been updated to reflect new information regarding the Internet Browser for the Wii. Although Nintendo hasn't released the press release yet, there's still enough information there to get your juices going. On December 22nd (this Friday) the Opera Browser will be available for download onto Wii. Being labeled as a 'trial version' with the full version to be available in spring of 2007.
The information you gain from the website is limited right now, but Opera does have a Ninja Comic Strip explaining what's going on. If you notice in the strip, the Wii console exclaims "O" like the Opera Browser, except it's blue in color. Does anyone know if Operas Browser for Mobile Devies uses a blue logo, or if it's been changed to match the Wii's optical glow?
AT LEAST WE GET A BETA!

No problems here. Got the Weather Channel this morning. It works pretty good, and looks nice. Easy to look at the weather in other places too, using the 3D globe.

Change your wireless channel from the default, which 9 out of 10 times is 6 to channel 1 or 11. I switched mine and it moves like it should now.

Does anyone know about the possibility of using a USB keyboard with the browser? It would be nice if support for that was included in the final version.

I've previously tried a USB keyboard with the Wii messaging system, and it did not work. I hope they do put in a patch for that though.
Thanks for the heads up about the browser though....I've been waiting for this since launch day.

Yea, I gotta try that. I'm not too knowledgable of wireless routers and networking. Now, if I change my channel on the wireless router, will I then have to change the settings on all my computers that are connected thru the wireless network?
Thanks for anyone that can help me.

yeah this thing would be pretty useless without keyboard support. what would you have to do, point and click your way through a virtual keyboard to type out anything?

Looking forward to the channel! I have to buy a new router, it keeps dropping off. I hate it. It's perfect except the friggin dropoffs! I updated my Wii the day I bought it, no problems, then the drop off began. So I unplugged it. dangit.

Nope, your wireless devices will drop for a second and then come back alive. Thats what fixed my system.

In addition, the Wii Remote can be used with an on-screen keyboard to make text entry as easy as point and click.
That's funny, makes it sound like it was actually better and easier than using a real keyboard, which it certainly isn't.

Damn it must be a pain to use a browser without a keyboard and mouse.
