Yesterday I found 3 3DO games for sale for $3.99 each... The ones I remember are Demolition Man & Road Rash. They were in excellent condition.

I never played 3DO, but after seeing these games I'm very tempted to go all out and buy a console and games...

I was just wondering if anyone that knows 3DO can give me some info on these games value/rarity, just a guess?

Now all I need is a 3DO :D

You can check the online rarity guide, it is working. All 3 of those are good games, worth getting a 3DO if you can find one.

Nice games indeed. I myself am still missing Demolition Man, but a pretty fun game, especially the FPS Levels.

What is the going price for a 3DO system with all the hookups? Just to reference on ebay etc.

I'll check out the rarity guide again, but it didn't actually say what demolition man was worth.

Cheers.

*edit* ok, I now see the going price in the top right hand corner.

Time to install FreeDO and snap some nice shots of Demolition Man :)

Why, exactly? Is this game particularly rare?

I have to say the box and artwork that it comes in is very nice...

There was one game on 3DO (I think) that I've always wanted to play. It was a fighter like MK but more intense and bizarre.

I have another question about 3DO, is it region locked or not? Just curious...

No, you can play imports on it without any issues.

Way of the Warrior? the game was awful but it's fun to boot up every now and then to fully experience the awfulness first hand :)

There are parts in Demolition Man that can be played with the ALG light gun.. if you can find it, it makes the game more fun. I always get chided for this.. but two of my favorite 3DO games are ones most people hated.. Quarantine & Immercenary. Oh!.. and let's not forget Star Control II.. but everyone likes that.

Hopefully I will get a 3DO for a decent price, I will collect as many games as possible for it... I'm getting Total Eclipse & Return fire for $1.99 locally aswell.

Seriously, whoever doesn't like Quarantine has no soul. That game was downright awesome (I played the hell out of it on PC).

I've been wanting to play Immercenary for some time now but just never got around to it. While it looks fairly interesting and sounds like it might be fun to try to try to get lost in, the word of mouth and reviews for it tend to be fairly negative :( One of these days I'll fire up FreeDO and play it for a bit...one of these days.

Actually, Way Of The Warrior is awesome if you have the Street Fighter II pad, improves the controls by alot man. That game is fun as Hell! Immercenery is not too bad for the 3DO but is way better for the PC. I still would not say that the 3DO version is the worst though, I have played worse for sure, Shadow War Of Succession comes to mind, easily one of the worst fighters ever!

It usually lands somewhere between $35-50, depending on what games might be included and various other factors. Sometimes it may be a little bit higher than $50. Keep in mind there are three different models of the 3DO that were released in the US.

Someone offered to sell me a FZ-10 for $30 from here, but he hasn't replied to my PM's

$30-$40 would be great, if i don't get a PM back... ebay then.

now i'm starting to regret selling my copies of way of the warrior, road rash and demolition man. at least i held onto star control II

since were talking about it...what do you guys think is the best model of the 3DO. i have the one that just looks like a big cinder block with the cd try. not the flip top.

Way of the Warrioir was an early title by Naughty Dog, the folks who went on to make Jak & Daxter, y'know.

The one you have sounds like the FZ-1. The flip top model is the FZ-10. I prefer the FZ-10 but it's really not a big difference.

Demolition Man is actually a pretty fun game. Very underrated. The 3DO as a platform is underrated in general, and doesn't get much run by the gaming press at all. I think it was a very interesting console that was actually way ahead of it's time, as well as being way too expensive. People fail to remember that the 3DO was released in October of 1993. A game like Crash N Burn might seem like total ass right now, but back in October of 1993, it was so far beyond anything I was playing on Genesis or Super Nintendo or Sega CD or whatever. It was just so damn next-gen back then. When 1995 came along, and the Sega Saturn and Sony Playstation got released, everybody quickly forgot about the 3DO, and thus it's a mere footnote in gaming history. But I really think the 3DO has a very unique flavor all it's own, and while it has way more than it's fair share of stinkers, it does have some truly awesome games. Many of it's best games have been ported to either Saturn or Playstation or both, but if you want to play the original version, then the 3DO is the way to go.

I highly recommend getting the adapter that allows you to use a SNES control pad. I have one, and alot of the games are much easier to control with that adapter. I'd also highly recommend a 3DO rgb mod if it wasn't incredibly expensive and difficult to do. I'm not sure if acem77 has any more of the required 3DO arcade motherboards anyways.
