Are there any 2 player, 2D sidescrollers for PSX. I'm a big fan of 2D sidescrollers and would like to find one to play with my brother. I can think of plenty for the SNES but would like one for the PSX.

Does he have to be more specific? The list of two-player 2D sidescrollers for PS1 can't be that long. I'm having trouble thinking of ones without narrowing it down even more.

While not officially a two player game, my friends and I got a big kick out of Abe's Oddysee back in the day. It's perfect for alternating because you will die a lot in that game.

A beat'em up would be really cool.
Though not a 2D game, I could have some fun with Fighting Force/2.

Check out Panzer Bandit for the J-PSX. Great game, but pretty obscure.

All of these were Japanese exclusives with the exception of G.Daruis. All good so long as you can play NTSC/J games :)
Does he have to be more specific? The list of two-player 2D sidescrollers for PS1 can't be that long. I'm having trouble thinking of ones without narrowing it down even more.Sorry, somehow I missed the 2-player part. That does narrow it down quite a bit!

I've got a PSX-change. I have a few Japanese games. Panzer Bandit seems pretty cool and fits what I'm looking for perfectly but its expensive too.

My personal fav would be Gunners Heaven (aka Rapid Reload in Europe). Its similar to Gunstar Heroes.

I think tomba 1 is sort of 2d and I guess you'd like Pandemonium 1 and 2 although very basic
not 2d but Fist of the Northstar is probably the best beat em up on the PS1 I would like Geikido but it just seems so ugly now :.....( although more fun that fighting force which kinda looks better I don't know, feeling very confused at the moment

Sigh...don't tell me I have to pick this up now. In any case, I have Gunner's Heaven and was disappointed by it.
