Anyone have this problem with their Wii?

I turn on my Wii, it goes to the channels with no problem.
Now, if I have a game (doesnt matter what game) in I then go to the game channel.
I need to wait for at least 15 seconds before pressing start game.
Even then I might have a problem
If not, the screen will turn blank after I press start game and the system becomes nonresponsive, until I have to shut it down manually,
by holding down the on/off button.
I would say the system does this more than 60% of the time.

Same thing happens with the virtual console but not as frequently (25% of the time). But, I keep getting connecting problems with WiiConnect24 even after I tried all the channels on my router.

What do you guys think? Send it back to Nintendo or wait for a firmware upgrade?

If you can live without it for a short time, id send it to nintendo. It sounds like theres something not quite right but waiting for a firmware upgrade could take a while.

I havnt had it myself (no wonder, i dont even have a Wii lol), but i've seen people on other forums having the exact same problem you describe here so it doesnt seem like a uncommon problem.

Just send it to Nintendo, they're nice, they'll fix it for you.

Yea, I know. I probably will. I already had to send my Wii remote away,

Sounds like a system problem to me, your Wiiconnect and all the wireless apps should be working normally now, but they arent.
