I've been thinking about buying the first Sims game for GameCube. I've never played a Sims game before but I really did enjoy Animal Crossing, which seems somewhat similar. Is it worth it?

I played Bustin' Out and I hated it. I don't like the Sims series because the style freaks me out. I prefer Animal Crossing.

I think the Sims lends itself more naturally to the PC. I would recommend that if you just want to play the game. If you're a Gamecube collector and would prefer a Gamecube version, then I guess it's worth a shot.
It's a great game though, made even better in the Sims 2.

Snes_Collector: Do you have a trade list? I have a sealed copy of this game I'll probably never get around to playing. PM me if you're interested.

I rented it and if you don't have a 251, 256, or 259 memory card forget it, Because it takes up 60 blocks of memory. I prefer the PC games, But I don't like "The sims 2" Because it takes too long to load on my PC.
Also the console versions go in a "Story" Mode, So you can "Win" The sims. I like the console versions for the bug zapper in them because your sims can touch it and get zapped. :)
I would recommend the PC version over the console, since you can pick up the complete collection for cheap. I remember spending hours on that game just ruining their peacfull sim life, turning Bella into the town whore and sending the Newbie sim to his grave. Good times.

The GC version has a neat feature where you can play split-screen with another person and romp around your house. That's about the only thing that really stood out, though.
