I got the game during the DP downtime, and played it a bit. I don't like the series much, and this version isn't helping me like it any more. :P
Anyway. I tried to go to the gallery to see a video, and the video just... froze after two seconds, during the Sega logo display. I have no clue why. Pressing start only brought me back to the menu, as if I'd done a cold reboot of the system. The disc is in okay shape, though.
Does anyone have -any- clue what could be going on? Is my Dreamcast dying or something? That's the ONLY game I have that's given me trouble.

Never had a problem, and my disc is pretty beat up. My best guess it's just the disc. I might have an extra copy though too. If I find it, you can have it. It serves me no purpose.

Same thing happens to me as well. I remember having it work before though, I dont remember if I was using my burned copy that time though.

But this is the SECOND disc that I've gotten that has this same problem. The first one was scratched to hell and back, and this one isn't very scratched at all.
And no, this isn't a copy. This is a legit version...
Edit:
Gamereviewgod, I'd appreciate the extra copy... but make sure you test it first. I'm really curious as to what is causing this problem. Maybe it's my DC, but who knows...

The thing that causes this problem the most is actually top scratched. I am sure that you know how to check for them, so I will leave it at that. Could also be that either your laser needs adjustment or it is just dirty, q-tips and alcohol, my friend!

... is that even safe? Q-tips and alcohol?

Hold the disk up to a light and see if there are holes leeting light through, trust me its easy to tell if you have a disc in this shape.
If there is then the top side is scratched and there is not a lot
you can do about it, maybe blot some whiteout on the label side
to stop the laser reading through the disc.
It IMO sounds like a stuffed disc, but meh.......

Lightly dab the q-Tip over the laser, do not press hard or you may scratch the Laser surface. Yes, it is safe, but you have to be careful.

This is the reason I don't get used Dreamcast games at all, fortunately I stock up enough DC games when stores were dumping them for pennies years ago.
The only exceptions will be games I really want to get and are cheap, which I'm willing to take a chance on them. I've gone through 2 copies of SF Alpha 3 each copy will choke up on certain stage, after close inspections and holding the disc through light, each has scratch/holes on the top (data) side.
I'm thinking in the future, the market values between new (sealed) and used DC games will be quite substantial compared to other systems because of this, certain games have nearly no protections (bare surface w/o painting) on top at all, like E.G.G. which you can literally scratch the top by just toughing it.

Hmm, I think that may be over doing it a little as I have touched my ECC quite often and never scratched it. You just have to be careful with the games, just like CD's and the games before this. People are too rough on them, if you can't take care of the stuff, why even bother buying it? This is actually why I was happy that Game Stop discontinued Dreamcast stuff as I swear to God they only took in the worst looking discs that they could find! I went through three MVC 2 discs a couple of years ago. My Dad was able to find it and damn be told every copy but their last one was screwed, all top scratches!
