Has the total reached 1000 yet? Also when do you think it will finally be dead as a console? Are you happy with what is currently coming out for it these days?

I don't think the total has hit 1000, nor do I think it will ever. I think that as of now, it is on its last breath. All of the kiddy/budget software is now coming out on the DS instead. All I can think of slated for GBA release that has me remotely interested in Metal Slug 1.
I'm pretty frustrated we haven't gotten any of the neat and very good Japanese GBA games that have come out over the past few months such as the Bit Generations games and Rhythm Tengoku.

I'm predicting that 2007 will be the final year for the GBA, and it'll be a quiet one. I think the last new release will be seen sometime in the fall or winter.
I can't think of anything big that's still on the horizon besides the long-delayed Racing Gears 2, and I have a feeling that's going to be cancelled in favor of the DS version.
Most of the new titles will be kid-friendly ports from franchises that can still profit from having a GBA version of the game. As for rereleases, Double Packs are being seen less often but I think there will be a few here and there (there was a second Yu-Gi-Oh double pack released recently), and hopefully Nintendo will add more first-party titles to their Player's Choice library. Hopefully there are a couple nice surprises on the horizon, though.

Too many. That's all I know.
They should've ended with Tales of Phantasia. Nobody is buying new GBA games anymore.
By nobody, I mean very few people, not literally nobody. Obviously collectors and a few rabid fans will keep buying, but it's time for the industry to move on.

Hopefully DreamTR shows up here, I'm pretty sure he has a complete collection and has been buying new releases as they come out. If I had to venture a guess I'd say probably 700-800. I too think the GBA will die in the next year as the DS is pretty affordable, is backwards compatible with the GBA, and SP sales have seen a dramatic dropoff. I'm also pretty sure the GBA Mirco didn't sell all that great as most retailers have dropped the price on these. I personally loved the GBA format, but the DS has caught on and can do the same things as the GBA.

Joe, sorry for the other thread, my browser wasn't refreshing and I thought it didn't go through. I meant to start only one thread.

Maybe if they lowered the price of GBA SP and GBA Micro it'd increase sales...

What happend to my earlier post? Its suddently gone, wierd.. I wrote that Nintendo.com have listed 973 GBA releases and i doubt they have EU/JP games on that list so its more than 1000 total.
EDIT: I see 2 threads was made now and i posted in the other hehe :)

jajaja: Nintendo's release list is incorrect. They have games only released in Europe on it as released in the United States, games that were announced but never released, and games that are "announced" but not out yet. There are "about" 920-940 or so US GBA games right now. I'm missing the last 20 or so released these past two months because they are each $29.99 retail, and I won't pay that much for one unless it's a special case (some Atlus titles). I'm pretty certain the final total will be close to 1000, but I am not sure it is going to top that total.

The games Atlus has been releasing in the past six or so months (namely the two Summon Night games, the two Super Robot Taisen games, and Yggdra Union) have all been really good. I also imported Rhythm Tengoku and Mother 3 last year, both of which I loved. I'm not saying that the system isn't dying/dead, but the recent releases on it have been very good and it's one of my favorite systems of all time.
