Thanks to cheapassgamer here is a cut-and-paste-list of a nice ToysRUs sale. The prices are accurate, it works, and the sales prices are in the cash register no matter what the price labels say.

Note in particular those $10-deals for great precious PS2 RPGs, and Odama for the GC with mic for ten dollars as well.

Don't expect to find most of these titles.

Most TRU's only had a handfull of these games...hence the clearance markdowns. It still pays to take a look, but I only found 5-6 of those games at my local TRU yesterday. Your best bet is to hit those out of the way TRU's that still seem stuck in the 80's (The stores that still have "tickets" for video games that you take up to the cashier...not many of those around anymore).

Guitar Hero... :-/ Just spent $50 in gift cards for Guitar Hero II alone (since the mall the gift card went to was out of combo guitar+game) and dropped another $40 on a wired guitar at Game Stop because they were out of compatible wireless ones. $90 is a ton of money to me for a game + guitar but I've already put a request out at a few places to hold GH1 and a second guitar when they come in. One place sold the other day GH 1 & 2 + Guitar for $60, now that's a deal.

But anyhow, at Toys R Us I picked up the Odama game because the other things I wanted weren't there. The locations around here seem to lack good game supplies.

They are on sale. The employees at your location apparently don't get price changes done. Make sure to scan anything you want at a price checker or make the employees do it at the register. TRU price changes are universale across all locations except Times Square.

There were quite a few of the rpgs. The psp were harder to find. I think the rpgs will go once the rpg lovers start heading out for the sale. I was quite suprised at the amount of the rpgs availible in multiple copies and I went to 2 stores.

I went to my TRU. No Tales of Phantasia, or any of the DS games. No Valkyrie Profile or Megaman Maverick Hunter X.

However, I DID get Metal Gear Ac!d 2, Gradius Collection, and Mega Man Powered Up. Turns out Powered Up is like $20 everywhere anyway, but it's all good. I saved, what, twenty bucks? Well, I used that twenty, along with a twenty dollar gift card I had to buy Portable Ops! I also got Metal Gear Ac!d used at a local store for $12.

I am happy. Now I must buy my friend's PSP for a hundred bucks. He already agreed to sell it. If he somehow sold it to someone else, I can return everything except Ac!d, so no harm done! This was a good day. Thank you for bringing this sale to my attention.

I second that. Always make sure the games are scanned, and they will show up with the sales price. When I did a price adjustment on the 26th the lady behind the counter refused to do it, told me if these games are not on sale in a print ad she can't do a price adjustment. I insisted that these games are on sale and she should scan them -- and they came up $9.98 and I got the adjustment.

Some employees are intentionally(!) or unintentionally a bit stubborn.

BTW, with last years TRUS-sale I was incredibly lucky and found almost everything I wanted....this year it was bad at two stores. Monster Rancher EVO (3) and Odama (2), that was it.

No Atelier Iris 2, Metal Saga, Steambot Chronicles, Grandia 3, dot hack or Tales of Legendia...all titles I need to complete my PS2 RPG collection.

I have no idea. I was just reading a thread on CAG last night about how this game shot up in value all of a sudden. Sealed copies are selling for around $60-$70 (more like $60 now since prices dipped a bit after christmas) Today, I see 3 copies at the TRU sale and snatched them all up.

I had no idea they were worth so much. I would never have gave them a second look if I didn't read that thread.

Now, I’ve got to decide whether I feel like going all the way back to that store just to get $8 back. I finally was able to check this out, but the TRU didn't even have a bunch of the games, and they were out of atelier iris. I did manage to get monster rancher evo, grandia III, and arc the lad though. I also found a la pucelle tactics at value city which was a nice surprise.

I didn’t have the opportunity to get to TRU until Saturday. I’d made a list of about 7 games but only managed to find one from my list. All the RPG’s had been grabbed up already, and I was really wanting Valkyrie Profile Lenneth. Anyway from my list I got Harry Potter GoF for GC. But I also went ahead and picked up Feel the Magic ($5.00!!).

They had a single copy of Phoenix Wright there for only $19.99. I know I had been re-released, but that was the first time I’d seen it anywhere since its release day. I’d passed on it then thinking, "I can get that for $20 down the road"….seems to have worked out that way after all.
