Does anyone know what is wrong with an Atari Lynx which only shows a blank screen (backlight does switch on)? It clicks when switching on, but that's all, not even the infamous "Insert game". The brightness knob doesn't do anything. Inserting several game cartridges also does not help.
What I would like to know is what needs to be replaced to get it running again (transistor, resistor, whatever). Please help me to bring it back to life. Yes, I know I can get a relatively cheap replacement, but that's no fun at all - we're restoring things here, right? Technicians: please reply!

I guess the first thing to check right now is that the LCD ribbon hasn't come loose from the motherboard or from the LCD itself. There is going to be quite a few screws to remove the motherboard from the front housing (for Lynx Model 2) Lynx model 1 you will have a much easier access.

Hi, already tried that with no luck: I disassembled the whole unit and put it back together again. Nothing, still just a click from the speaker and that's it.
