WANTED: Jaguar controller and AC, also games! [Archive]

Yep, I recently came into a barebones system and desperately need an AC and at least 1 controller (3 button is fine) also looking for some SHMUPS and any other game Non/sports/driving. I will pay fairly.

I'm giving Shawn a free bump since I helped him obtain the Jaguar and a copy of Trevor McFur (to be sent at a later date). Hopefully someone can hook him up with an AC plug, a controller and a decent game or two (something other than Checkered Flag or Club Drive).

I think I may have found 1 pad and the AC "Thanx scrabelpawz"! just waiting to hear back. But I may be needing another pad, kitsune in the future.

Depends on what I may be able to get my hands on for games.

Somebody must have some carts they want to get rid of?

Affirmative. I should have it out tomorrow. I'd get Hover Strike from T2K, it takes some getting used to and everybody says the cd version (which is sort of like a director's cut) is "better" but it plays a little like Battlezone and there is some shooting involved.

For reference, Shawn, Ultra Vortek is a decent Mortal Kombat klone and the "good" fighting game released on the Jaguar (the other two were not so good). Raiden, I think, is another shooter and that is based on an arcade game.

I have 2 games <there loose> labels are great, but theres a rental sticker on the back of both carts, they work great

A Sega Master system or Sega Genesis MODEL ONE (1) AC adapter will work safely on an Atari Jaguar, if you have them. Just make sure its the ORGINAL GENESIS AC Adapter and NOT THE Genesis 2 variety... :) I don't want ya to blow up your Jag.

I'm 95%+ sure about this, but you're right. It's a good idea to get some other verification. I'm going to make a thread on a Jaguar board I frequent just to be sure.

Can anyone else confirm this before I hook it up?

You may try doing one of three things:

1. Create a thread here asking what AC plugs work.
2. Search for old threads here about Jaguar AC cords.
3. Search for (or create) one over at Atari Age.

Some people I talk to say NES cords fry Jaguar's and yet there are still people online who insist those work with one. Never heard one word of talk about how a Genesis cord works.

I created a thread on an active Jaguar board and should get a response soon... I also did somesearching yesterday before I posted the reply about the Master system and Genesis 1 AC adapters working safely on the Jaguar. I'm almost postive using an NES AC adapter on a Jag WILL fry your Jaguar...However, it is safe to use a Jag power supply on an NES...go figure. :P

Thanks for the help, Kevin. I hope that works out all right. I'm butting into the thread because the Jaguar that Shawn wants a plug for was basically an X-Mas present from me. For obvious reasons, I'd hate to have it get fried :) I knew the Nintendo plugs were off-limits.

Man, I feel like I'm giving you the run around, but the seller I got my own unit from actually included a first party plug from Atari, so I've never had this dilemna before.

Hey thanks for all the help Kevincal. But I would ask to keep anything else to PM's OK, before this WTB thread get's locked. Everytime someone posts this get's bumped and makes other Buyers/sellers lists go down a notch.

You helped out tremendously, and now if I get my controller in the mail today I'll be able to play my Jag.
