Can someone help me with Star Fox Command?

I just got SFC yesterday and I can't really figure out how to win the first battle. I always run out of turns and either the Great Fox gets attacked or I kill everyone but missles blow up the Great Fox.

So how do I win this part?

The gameplay is pretty fun. I thought it would be hard to use the stylus but it became natural fast. It looks great too.
