Very worth the money. Although I must say I am more excited about the second one, since its online :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

You have to be really in the mood to play it. Its not a play in little bits game. And most of the missions are get from here to there. Which is kind of strange since all the VT (vertical tanks) have different attributes, but you always use the medium ones since they are the best for the missions.

It almost seems like they put it out knowing it was going to be online but before they went anyfurther they had to justify wiehter or not it was a viable product in the market place.

I would have to say yeah, its viable.

How about the console, whats your set up like? Do you just put a table in front of you, does it need to be secured to a surface in anyway to keep from moving.

I actually find it easier to play with it in my lap. There are also foot pedals you have to take into consideration. It pretty much like driving a car. You need everythnd a close as possable.

The best setup is a chair with armrests. Let the control sit on the arm rests and that way you have more room to move your hands, you sit up and you can still get to your pedals.

The original production run was fairly small. However, due to sales and interest, they released another production run. You should be able to find it in many places now, ranging in price from $199.95 - $249.99 (retail).

very good game if you're into mechs...also has a little bit of a learning curve, not horriblely hard, but you have to get used to the controller and such. some missions get pretty tuff, it has no pause option so you have to be willing to sit through the mission, or atleast move your mech out of combat if you need to get up. as for another run I heard they made 10,000 and released only about half of the run at launch and then what's out there now is the other 5k, I could be wrong , but that's what I've heard.

I have it, I had to get it shipped up to Alaska. From what little I have played of it, It is a blast. But i would agree that playing it will take a large chunck of your time, it is not to play in little bits. I simply sit it on my lap and play. I think it will also maintain its value. So ig you purchase it, play it for a year, and decide you dont want it, you can always sell it. I would go ahead and buy one while you still can.

Steel Battalion is a lot of fun. It is one of those games that you will block out an afternoon for, because in all likelihood you'll have to set your room up around it.

One thing that nobody told me that I really dig is that all of the buttons on the controller light up. The game goes a long way to get you in the mood for verisimilitude, so you feel almost obligated to humor it, and it is totally worth it. A great game that can really pull you in, it's worth it if you're willing to accomodate the game.

Pisses me off about the second printing of it... I bought one just for it's collectability.

I have it. I have not gotten 200 dollars of play out of it, but I don't regret getting it.

It's a fun game, it is just hard to find a place for the controller. TV trays don't cut it.

Steel Battalion is very good. I think everyone will agree that no game is worth $200 But you can't play it without the controller, so thats what your mainly paying for. I have no regrets shelling out the cash. It's very hard at first untill you learn all the controls as there is no training missions to get you started. But once you get the hang of it it's very good. Still hard though as you lose your saved game if you don't eject as well asy our Mech. I find it hard on my lap especially shifting, as it slides around, and i tried a cofee table but it was too low as i was hunched over. I'd love to build a custom cabinet for this thing. Can't wait to see if the bring the online version out in the US. EB had them in stock last time i checked $199 +$16 2day shipping.

Well I found one today, and bought it. No stores around here have it at all. It was a tough find. I just finished putting it together. Haven't tried it just yet but will be shortly I would think.

Trying to still decide how iwill set it up for best playability. That console is BIG.

I heard other games might be released to use the console... that would be cool and make this even more worth while.

What size TV are you guys playing this on... I would think the bigger the better. I have a 32 inch in the basement that it will be played on so it should be decent.

I just picked up mine too! Woot! This thing is huge. I had no room in my room for anything more and now I really have NO room!!! The box alone takes up a lot of space.

I can't really play it on my lap I have found out. And the pedals don't work with my gaming seats. So I think I'm going to fabricate a holder just for this controller and a inlined lift for the pedal box so I can reach them properly... Hmm off to the drawing board...

I'll be damned if this isn't the mech game to end all mech games. Perhaps someone can come out with an adapter and some software to let us use this controller with Mechwarrior on the PC!
