Fan of Sega's Ryu Ga Gotoku/Yazuka? Well the trailer for the film adaptation my legendary japanese director Takashi Miike has made it's way on to the web.

http://www.ryu-movie.com

It looks hot. it looks very hot and altough it's japanese i still can't wait for it. Anyone familar with Miike's work knows that he's right at home with Yakuza and his tradmark style and sense of humour should fit great with Ryu Ga Gotoku's story.

Just one look and you'll be amazed home much of the feel of the game is captured in the trailer.

I really don't care for a bulk of his work, but I'm looking forward to checking this out. I actually just started playing the game this evening, so that's some pretty ninja timing, there.

Hopefully the R2 DVD has English subtitles on it so I can just import it. If there ever is an R1, it probably wouldn't happen for a while and you always run the risk of it being dub-only and I love supporting R2 releases that have English subs.

Actually thanks to releasing groups like Tartan we're seeing a lot of original language releases in R1. The cult love asian movies has enjoyed has grown into a profitable market here.

Yep. There are TONS of cult DVD studios doing Asian releases now: Panik House, ArtsMagic, Discotek, Tartan, etc. all do pretty much exclusively Asian films, the rest of which are snatched up by studios known for other niches (Synapse, TLA, etc.). Anything by a director as well known as Takashi Miike WILL get released here, it's only a matter of time. Now if only his movies were a little better in the quality department...

this is one reason I love being a region 4 buyer, Madman love Asian cinema and
anime and IMO release the best quality Eastern movies in the world.

I don't beleive there's been any offical announcements yet, but it's a good guess that Sega will.
