Google hits:
"nintendo64" 1,570,000
"nintendo 64" 3,330,000
It's more commonly seen as Nintendo 64 rather than Nintendo64, but that doesn't mean it needs to be dismissed.

I am always used to simply saying N64 which gets 16,200,000 on Google and saves a couple of syllables.

Yeah, it's always Nintendo^64 when it can be done that way, such as on the boxes or in other graphics. However Nintendo always plans for all contingencies when it comes to designating their systems--they're downright fascist about it, in fact--and they always use "Nintendo 64" in other situations.

This is an argument that could be settled in a particularly funny video for YouTube, much like the "tastes great, less filling" debates.
Really, though, this only matters to Ebay sellers looking for the most hits on their auctions.
