Hi Folks,

I have some Mega CD games I want to use on my American Sega CD. Besides those rare cartridges that kinda substituted for the BIOS, does anyone know how I might be able to make a region switch for this system. A 3-hour internet search turned up jack for me....

I have been able to do a region switch on my Genesis, but the CD unit doesn't care about that (it returns an error, actually).

Thanks so much!

Yours,
Rob

I had tried to find a way to mod my SegaCD too but came up empty handed :( I was told that the system is unmoddable. I was eventually able to track down a Datel CDX cart. Do you have any MegaCD games to trade? :D

Wouldn't a BIOS swap in Sega CD and a modified Genesis together work?

It's easier to do this.

Rip the game to computer HD.

Apply this tool to the image: scdconv found here http://www.eidolons-inn.de/sega/segacd_files.html

then burn the image. Enjoy! It works with many but not all games. made my Euro Robo Aleste work great on my NA SegaCD.

Hi there,

Yeah I found that...only works with some games. I really wanted to use my two Sega Game Cans (with the much sought after Phantasy Star text adventures). They don't work w/ this program.

I found this:

www.angelfire.com/ny/dezmoowu/Sega/Import.txt

Says something about rewiring two transistors, but no details.

I could do a bios swap, but I don't have an eprom burner and wouldn't even know where to buy the correct blank chips.

Thanks guys!

Yours,
Rob
